Due to a computer error, the local English station "Radio Caroline" announced the death of King Charles and had to apologize later.

There was some heavy duty kissing up going on, I see.
“Caroline has been pleased to broadcast Her Majesty the Queen’s, and now the King’s, Christmas Message and we hope to do so for many years to come,” Moore added.

Computer error... Yes, but computers don't make a conscious decision to activate things like that. Wonder if the human who activated it still has a job today?

The media can make mistakes. Now, more than ever, media has a reputation of reporting fake news, but a surprising portion of fake news seems to originate from public figures rather than the press.

Radio Caroline is a very respected radio station in the UK beeen going since the 1960's broadcasting off my nearest coastline in Essex since 1964 and launched..pun intended.. the careers of some of the UK's biggest and best broadcasters...

Radio Caroline broadcasts now from a Studio..in the next county ....to multiple countries, including Belgium and the Netherlands, and is available online worldwide.

Every radio and tv station has a monarch is dead button in the newsroom... if that was activated accidentally as they say... then it's a simple error.. nothing to get excited over..

''We apologise to HM the King and to our listeners for any distress caused,” the statement concluded.''

Nothing to see here....

In the world of U S political pundits this is considered one of the biggest blunders ever. Truman was in his home in Independence Mo with his wife and daughter. Thinking that the election was lost he had gone to bed and asleep when the final results gave him the win. The newspapers had jumped the gun going to press in the wee hours of the night and printed a result that proven wrong the next day.

When I grew up in Chicago, there were four main papers I can remember. The Tribune may have been the youngest, the other three are gone now.

I don't worry too much about King Charlie's death, there is a conga line of them all waiting to take his place. (Not that I would wish the old duffer any harm)

It's good that they don't have a "launch all missiles button" after all 🤣.
