Enjoy the Calif surf...and the Calif sharks

I thought I was OK in the desert but this movie has me nervous.

Hanging out on a pier with a buddy of mine (when we were young), we were watching these 2 girls sunbathing on the beach without their swim tops on, waiting for them to roll onto their backs. But we started getting really hungry, too, so he yelled "Sand shark!"

They must have heard that one before. :(

I was fine until 'Jaws' came out. Then I didn't venture far. 😐
In Pamama, fishing off a pier we'd see the green phosphorus glow and knew sharks were in and out from underneath the pier. Don't fall in!

Don't miss out at the "Petting Zoo"... ;)

Pretty soon we will be hearing about Shark Week (actually it is longer) on television again. Then we will hear everything there is to know about Great Whites, Tigers, Bulls, & Hammerheads.
When that show started only 1 or 2 studies had been done. Marine scientists knew very little about sharks. Most of what you saw during shark week was conjecture. Observational studies only started about 15 years ago and scientists are seeing some pretty bizarre, surprising behaviors. Like, they think sharks enjoy using their dorsal fin to play with seaweed, or it might be the seaweed acts as an anti-parasitic.

I picture a boy shark asking his girl, "What are you in the mood for tonight, New England chowder or Southwestern cuisine?"
