Escaped killer on the loose for 9 days. How's he doing it????

Having located him helps hugely. They can now place him on the grid map and work from there. Residents are being urged to keep their homes and vehicles locked and don’t open any doors to people they are not familiar with. This guy has nothing to lose. He has killed at least 1 for certain and accused of killing a second back home. PA hasn’t executed a prisoner since 1999.
Each time a Governor signs a death warrant, the Superior Court gives a stay until whatever reason they come up with. There is one case that has been overturned on appeal and the defendant has been granted a new trial that I have followed closely and would like to see the original sentence be be granted. Pennsylvania’s record for having death penalty cases overturned is terrible. Either our judges are too liberal or we have too many bad Prosecutors or D.A.’s.
The killer is Kevin Dowling. Here is the story—- Dowling is definitely the killer. There is no other suspect or anyone that would want the lady dead. He is the killer. I’m OK with an appeal as long as he remains in prison. The prison he is in is down near Philadelphia and is known as a maximum security lockup. There are a lot of rough people sitting in those cells.

Easy. He's just stuck in line trying to get a fake driver's licence at Dept. of Motor Vehicles...
Apparently he stole a dairy van with a refrigeration unit on the top which shouldn't be hard to spot. He's probably dumped that by now. The question is how far did he travel. Being a commercial vehicle there might be gps on it.

They say when he tried to avoid capture for the murder charge he was found in Virginia. Once he gets into a more densely populated area it might be easier for him to hide in plain sight/get lost in the crowd.

And mine... less time if he drives fast.
We put a new (first!) trail cam out yesterday and before looking at the pics this morning, that's the first thing I thought of (not seriously, but the thought was there!) that I'd have to look for the little weasel since he was getting caught on so many cams.

Criminals are always planning the great escape, but very few of them plan for what they will do once they are outside the walls of a prison. Run like hell isn't much of a plan. I do have to admit Danel is pretty good at evading the cops, he's a resourceful little critter.
Like those vicious yellow-jackets that have taken over my front porch.
Here's hoping he's lactose intolerant.
They seem to have his picture on several ring cameras ie on someone's house
Are the owners turning over footage? Are they allowing law enforcement access(some places have a program where one can opt in to allow law enforcement access anytime they want). And what is the convict doing-seeing if someone is home to make a burglary decision? Hope the owner comes to door and bum rush them in a home invasion?

He's obviously quite clever and must be skilled in survival tactics. The man who said he suspects it was Cavalcante who broke into his home is blessed that no harm was done to him or his family. Like one of the residents in the neighborhood he was spotted in said, it's odd that with the FBI and all the other police searching, he still hasn't been found. But then another interview...may or may not have been the same lady, it was mentioned that there were plenty of hiding places in the area, some of which he might never be located in. I just hope they catch him soon. His freedom is adversely impacting too many lives.
The convict was able to travel 20 miles in the van before abandoning it. He has tried to contact several ex co workers(was in the US illegally how did he work/who employed him). One ignored his request and called the police.

It is the same way people go a long time without being caught .. do not bring any attention your way and you can hide in plain sight ..

If I may answer here. Since deadly force is an absolute 4th Amendment trigger, NON lethal force is always the goal. But not always the outcome.

As of 10:45 AM EST, ol' Danel is still roaming around Pennsylvania. Ok, he's a murder, but the guy hasn't been caught, he's seen munching on Ritz crackers, bathed and clean shaven, and has a car-10 days without cash or a credit card. To be honest in the last ten days, I haven't always been bathed or shaved.

But you would have surely been wise enough to at least leave the general area where a hundreds-strong LE manhunt is going on? I don't understand why he's not halfway across the country already hiding in some other little town that *isn't* in Chester Co. PA. Any thoughts on that?
He's taken so many risks that I doubt it's something simple like fear of getting caught on the road in a stolen car because he's already doing that... but not trying to leave the area. Then again, if he has someone helping him, he could *be* across the country in a vehicle that isn't being sought.

EAST NANTMEAL, Pa. (CBS) -- Escaped inmate Danelo Cavalcante was possibly sighted in East Nantmeal on Monday night on the 12th day of the search for the convicted killer and police believe he might be armed.
On Monday at around 11 p.m., police are actively searching for Cavalcante in the area of 1993 Fairview Road.

It's even more real now... he has a .22 rifle with a scope. Homeowner shot at him but like the slippery snake he's been, he got away once again.
