Ever hear of this before?

NO.. I have never heard of this.. I don't believe in someone "marrying" Christ.. but As you say.. she has every right to decide what she wants. More power to her.
 
I was thinking about this.. It's really not as creepy as the "Father/Daughter Purity Ball" that some fundie groups sponsor.. where young teen girls go with their fathers and pledge to remain virgins until they marry...
 

That whole purity thing sets off my therapist warning buzzer big time. Not natural for fathers to be that involved with their daughters on this level. So open to a variety of abuses I will not discuss here. Had an American friend do her PHD thesis on the subject. Whew, creepy stats. As for this woman, where is the harm? We all have needs, fantasies etc. Seems benign to me.

I agree, it's her life, just seems weird to me.
 
Yeah, that's one of the few differences I see. It's like being a "regular" Taoist monk who does all the religious ceremonies in a temple, versus a "lay" Taoist monk who dresses like you or I and travels around doing more secular duties.

The difference is that nuns live in community. This woman will live in the world as an individual.
I'm wondering whether she has joined some sort of lay order but these are usually only temporary.
She seems to have made a lifetime commitment.

Unless she begins to squabble with the other wives, then she may have to ask for a divorce to get out of the stress.
