Roller skating has always scared me. The wheels feel like they are 10 ft. high. I have some unusual fears. Feel the same about ice skating.

I skate every Saturday, and I love it!

I thought it might be nice to have a thread where we can enjoy some funny pictures and videos of skating.

I used to enjoy skates and skateboard in skate parks and on the street. Wouldn’t do it anymore. I’ve got enough dues to pay for the bumps and scratches from the past. Won’t be adding to those if I can help it.

Same. Me and my brothers used to go to this rink called Rollerland when I was in my early teens. It was nearest to where we lived.

I was a pretty good roller-skater. Did the twirls and jumps and all that chick-magnet trick-shyte.

It was fun!

Not as elegant as this lady but I did enjoy roller skates at the skateboard park because of how you could jump out of one bowl into another.

I don't agree. You are smart enough to know your limits! I totally understand not wanting to go out there and break something! LOL

Not an activity for me, but Fred Astaire did a scene with Ginger Rogers in the movie "Shall We Dance" where they danced wearing roller skates.

The last time I went rollerskating was on the boardwalk at Daytona Beach (1980). I did a faceplant and broke my nose.

Started rink skating at age 8 and went every week thereafter for years. Always skated outdoors, but great indoors.
