Facebook is out to get me.

Someone or a bot told you?
When I typed the word, a window popped up with the warning
that I might be censured for using it, it is probably marked by a
"Algorithm", for a human to look at later, in this case, while in
Facebook it was all done by a computer.

This is the first time ever that I have been warned about my choice
of words!

Mike.

Some Ladies from Birmingham UK, were threatened with
expulsion from Facebook for using inappropriate language,
they were exchanging a recipe for "Faggots", a local dish of
ground pork wrapped in bacon!

I have just been told that I might be censured for using the
word here!

Mike.
A gif that I attached to one message one was refused and I was given a personal warning for unsuitable language. It was the cartoon character Muttley, the dog, gigging but part of the gif address (not any description of mine) included the word snigger.

I would bet anything that this is a programming error. Not that it makes it any easier for you, Sassycakes. But that's so absurd that it makes no sense at all to imagine a person objecting to the things you wrote. You may have inadvertently used a perfectly innocent word that accidentally got placed on their "forbidden" list.

Old saying from my days as a programmer:

"To err is human. To really &#*! things up requires a computer."

FB did it again VS. They stopped me from clicking "Love" on my Honorary Daughter's (HD's) post. She's the mother of two of my grandchildren for goodness sakes! To top it off, they then took it upon themselves to log me out. But I realized it's probably because my VPN was active. I was using my tablet at the time. I noticed for about the last month or so, I've had to disconnect it when I go to log into FB using my desktop...it wasn't like that before. I attempted to take a screen shot of the message but it disappeared to quickly but said included..We are trying to keep our community safe. Safe from what? Love?!!

I got off of FB a couple months ago and I don't miss it. I was also banned from a group I belonged to (it was for counted cross stitch, for heaven's sake). I never did find out why. The Admin would never answer any of my messages. Then, on another group that I belonged to for a long time, I was trolled and called "an old b..ch" and other things too nasty to repeat. I blocked the person and reported him to Admin but they never did anything about it so I got out of that group. That group was about my hometown. Nothing political. I felt hurt and letdown. It was like leaving my hometown all over again. That's when I decided to get off FB completely. People have become so disrespectful and rude that it's not worth being on there. Sad times

I don't know why so many people are willing to give Zuckerberg their business. A doofus who started the page because he and his college buddies were only interested in girls if they could first see what they looked like.

I would never join, but my husband joined a few years ago because a Christmas card from an old Air Force friend asked him to talk to him there. Of course, the first thing he did was post a lot of photos of himself -- I think that's the number one reason people like it -- after that it was a few lines of conversation with the friend and then nothing but ads. Why can't people keep in touch with their families with e-mail, snail mail or phone calls?

My pet peeve is that so many churches have all their info on Facebook.

While I don't like Facebook censorship, it is easier to keep up with family and friends in one place. I just scanned through my friends list and counted 14 close and 53 extended family members ...and that's not counting lifetime friends so close they might as well be family. I shudder to think of how many emails just one shared photo would generate among family groups!

If I go to a site that wants me to read by signing up with my Facebook account, it’ll never be happening.

I don’t know if my ad blocker helps or it’s something that I set on FB, but I only see a few ads along the side. Those are easy to ignore. If there are posting of ‘interest to me’ I just swipe past or put them on ignore if I find them disagreeable.

Have you noticed how many sites offer the option of signing up using our FB accounts! No way would I ever do that. That's all we need...to have FB be able to track what we do on other sites. In fact, there was a tutorial about finding out when and what activities FB tracks when we are not on their site. I'll have to look for that.

Yes...I've noticed that a lot more and since I quit FB, I can be a little safer feeling. I also quit using Chrome and Google after there was a discussion on here about them tracking what you do online. I installed Mozilla Firefox and DuckDuckGo. I also have Norton and an Ad Blocker.

Colleen a friend told me about Brave browser which uses DuckDuckGo and blocks ads. But Brave can be wonky sometimes and I can't get used to their bookmarking system. Ever since back in the days when I had a PC (now I have a Mac), Firefox never worked right for me so I gave up on trying to use it. I do lots of stuff in Google, my emails, photos, documents, music and spreadsheets. I know they track because I've read about it but I don't know any other alternatives with the conveniences. If you do, please let me know.

I see very few, if any, ads, probably due to my ad blocker (uBlock Origin). Facebook keeps recommending I "friend" people I've never heard of, so I just turn off that option.

I use Firefox, and have installed the Facebook Container ("Prevent Facebook from tracking you around the web. The Facebook Container extension for Firefox helps you take control and isolate your web activity from Facebook."). Pretty cool.

I'm with you 100%. And speaking of ad blocker I often get a notice from this or that to disable my ad blocker in order to use their services. Goodbye.

And even if you could scan it, convert it to a PDF and send/upload it to them, WHY would you give them your picture ID?
