Favorite songs from childhood

A Quiet American
Do you have songs from childhood that bring back happy memories?

Although he passed away before I was born, since my grandpa was a railroad man, "I've Been Working on the Railroad" was a favorite.

Also, I always loved the fun words and catchy tune to "Would You Like to Swing on a Star" sung by Bing Crosby

I don't know that I had a favorite, growing up. There are several songs that stick out in my mind, suggesting I must have liked them at the time. These are/were:
  • Riders in the Sky (Vaughn Monroe)
  • High Noon (Frankie Lane)
  • Moonglow and the Theme From Picnic (Morris Stoloff)
  • Canadian Sunset (Heywood and Winterhalter)
Sometime in the 1950s, rock and roll kicked in big time but I was too busy with multiple jobs , school and sports to pay much attention.

Not so much favourites, but rather memorable...

  • Mrs. Robinson, by Simon & Garfunkel
  • Yellow Submarine, by The Beatles
  • Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polkadot Bikini, by Brian Hyland
  • Alone Again, Naturally, by Gilbert O'Sullivan

There are definitely more, but these I remember just like yesterday.

“Beep Beep” by The Playmates, with a little Nash Rambler putting a Cadillac to shame. The song gradually got faster and faster, simulating the road race action...

Anyone else remember this son?

There was an old man named Michael O'Finnegan
He had whiskers on his chin-a-gin
Along came the wind and blew them in again
Poor old Michael O'Finnegan
Again again

.. or something like that :p
