FBI raids observatory

I love things like this. And shrouding everything in secrecy makes things worse. Now I would love aliens to visit and everyone to know but sadly this is probably not that occurence Although you never know....

Interesting. A post office was also shut down. I wonder if this has anything to do with that "remote New Mexico desert compound where 11 children were found living in filth and the body of a boy was discovered" ?

Some of those in that compound were arrested on weapons charges. Could they have planted a timed bomb in the observatory?

Sounds like some local police honcho got his feathers ruffled because the FBI took some kind of preventative action (against who knows what, could have been anything) without consulting him first.

The last paragraph in that article states-

"Another possibility could be some sort of hazardous chemical leak or other natural danger, but again there’s no reason for the FBI to keep everyone in the dark."

I can think of a few; unduly scaring people until safety is returned, tipping off possible terrorists, come to mind. Even to an embarrassment over much ado about nothing.

This peaked my curiosity (most of you know how excited I get about the possibility of UFOs etc.). The UFO theory has started to surface but I don't believe it. I've heard theories about bombs etc. so the Observatory and Post Office had to be evacuated. Then the most interesting theory that I've read so far is that China has hacked into the observatory antenna so they can spy on White Sands Missle range to see what we're up to. Well, as theories go, that's a pretty good one, however I don't know what that would have to do with the post office. I will be eager to hear the reasons...if the reasons are ever revealed.

Per comments on Trip Advisor, management chngd hands to New Mexico State University early July

I don't know what if anything that has to do with this, but since this IS New Mexico, maybe authorities hoped to quell UFO's from outer space rumors. But, if that's the case it didn't work, LOL!

I'm very curious, but in no way support aliens from outer space theories.

Just to clarify- the observatory closed itself, then it contacted the FBI, which has been reported on the scene with multiple agents and a Blackhawk helicopter.

For all we know, maybe some criminals were spotted in there.

Dr. Claudia Albers, physicist (I'll let you all decide about that) has posted her Physicist Report 340 which, if I understand her correctly, is in regards to this solar observatory being closed down due to some problem with the sun. It seems Planet X is devouring the sun and that our sun photos/videos that we see are all simulations manufactured because the sun is actually going dark. (I'm not making this stuff up). If interested, you can watch the video. I nodded off twice but thought you all might be interested in all the theories starting to flow in. Anyway, Planet X might explain why the observatory is closed and helicopters are flying around it (which its kind of scary) but would someone please explain what the post office has to do with anything? Also, would Planet X get some kind of indigestion from devouring something so spicy as the sun?

Well, if anyone else finds out anything else-I'll be delighted to hear about it.

LOL- spicy as the sun! Dkay, that's funny. Maybe there were some sun flares that could damage the apparatus- but then I agree, why the post office?

Oh my, check this out:

Dr Claudia Albers is not a top physicist - she’s an ex physics lecturer who has gone a bit dotty
Robert Walker

I'd prefer the theory of someone seeming to pose some kind of threat to the structures that prompted the observatory to shut down and call the FBI, over Dr. Albers theories, myself.

Maybe it was just some mice. :playful:

I agree about Albers being "a bit dotty". I've never heard that phrase before, I like it. Going to file it in my "for future use" folder.

I agree with the threat too and maybe it was some mice. I saw on the news several years ago that a bunch of fire ants got into the inner wall of a business and was wreaking havoc with all the wiring and computers. It was quite a mess. Sometimes I don't know why all the secrecy.

In the "for what it's worth category"- if it were a China hacking job, there would be a bigger CIA presence, the "physicist" we agree is too dotty to be taken seriously, I'm not sure what kind of mice/ant problems there are in the area but perhaps the post office got some suspicious packages or the observatory got a suspicious letter. That would connect those two dots.

I'm surprised that no space alien theories have shown up yet. I'll give that another day. I wish I knew someone who lived in that area.

Well, I live in NM. but not in that area of the state. Anyway I'll bet it's nothing much. Every time the slightest little thing happens in NM, we get the local crazies speculating about UFOs and aliens.

I doubt the use of Blackhawks means much, either -- they are frequently used to airlift people and things in and out of difficult places, like in a rescue of some kind. We'e got air bases here and there are always helicopters flying around making their whump-whump-whump-whump.

Who knows, but I seriously doubt the sun is being eaten by little green men or whatever else, tho I'd imagine if you asked around in Roswell they'd have lots of theories.

I dunno Butterfly?....I have it on pretty good authority.....

My sister's, neighbor's,dog walkers,hairdresser said......it could happen....<grin>

The observatory is WAY at the other end of the state, about 300 miles away from that compound.

It's still closed down. Some other new theories:
1. The telescope accidentally picked up some confidential goings on at White Sands and they are making sure it's not some kind of espionage

2. Some major sewage disposal problems which caused quite a back up at the facility

All speculation could be solved if there was some transparency. lol. like that will ever happen. Well, for now I'm going with the sewage problem

Yeah me too....the whole thing stinks anyway......<grin>

Nothing on Snopes! Probably because I'm not using the right key words. I sent them an article asking to verify. I wonder if they'll answer.

Verify what? The only things we know for sure here is that the observatory is closed and that the FBI is there. All the rest is just noise. Neither the FBI nor the local authorities are obligated to give details of what they are doing to the public, so their failure to do says absolutely nothing about anything.

How would a telescope aimed at space pick up goings-on at White Sands, which is on the ground a few miles away? That theory makes no sense at all.

I do humbly disagree about all the secrecy. When absolutely no information is given imaginations begin to run wild and all kinds of theories start showing up which eventually leads some people to actually believing them. Oh well, it doesn't really matter-we'll get the truth on some future episode of ancient alien astronauts. lol If no information is ever revealed it will be filed in some FBI data file until someone comes along, finds it, sells it to a TV station and a new TV series is made about it. I do think it's fun to read all the theories and don't take any of them too seriously. I'm writing them all down to see if any of them were accurate in the event the truth is ever revealed. I could add a couple of new theories that are quite interesting that showed up over the weekend but I'll refrain from doing so.

FYI: The observatory is supposed to reopen today. The article I read said that staff members were under threat by someone. A suspect has been apprehended and the threat has been resolved. Not a lot of info but at least it's something that makes sense.

We may not ever know for sure, it might all be just a bunch of bologna. Not just any bologna either but this special holiday bologna.
