Finally - It's Off To Publishing!

R.I.P. With Us In Spirit Only
My first solo run-through for publishing an ebook using Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing system.

It's certainly eye-opening, going through something like this ... you see how far technology has come in the field of publishing. Used to be, you had to beg and bow and scrape at the front door of some mega-jumbo publishing company. Then, when they picked you as the 1 out of 10,000 that they deigned to publish, you had to submit reams of paper, then have those reams shuffled right back to you for corrections, multiple times, then you had to bring in the photographer (or go to them), then the merciless editing process, then, then, then ...

Now it's basically clickety-click, online previews in all of the available Kindle machines to see how it looks, Amazon even does their own spell check. As long as you're even close with the formatting they take care of any little errors as well.

Twelve hours from now I should have my book listed along with millions of others, and it will join my lonely traditionally-published book.

Huzzah!

Thank you all for your good wishes - I truly appreciate it! :D

Good job Phil..will autographed copies be available? Good luck and much success to you!

I'm afraid that autographed copies would be difficult - as of right now it's only a Kindle electronic book. Depending upon demand I might produce a few real copies.

But, don't you miss the bowing and scraping??? Congrats! Tell us how to find it out of the gazillion others online.

My first run-through with THAT process was enough to convince me that there had to be a better way.

Congrats to you Phil!! Yes, let us know how to find it so we can check it out now!!

As for how to find it ...

I didn't post any links here because it's really a book targeted at 18-25-year olds (demographically the biggest market for this subject), and I didn't want to offend anyone with the content matter (it concerns marijuana), but if you're interested in checking it out my sales page for it is here - you can link to Amazon through this page and purchase the Kindle edition, and you can also sign-up to my mailing list on the page.

Sam Stone is my new hero...

LOL! Cool!

Since I love the genre so much, I'm playing around with the idea of creating a Sam Stone character who is a hard-boiled PI and deals with the world of demon weed in the '30's and '40's... it's still just in the mulling-it-over stage. ;)

Now THAT is a thing of beauty!

Mind if I borrow it? I'd like to 'Shop it a bit and use it on my blog, maybe Facebook as well ...
