As usual I'm racing around doing more than is humanly possible. But this morning I was at the pet store, a fish filter here and rat log there, a new collar for Ninja, cat toys...okay just one bag of toys. Then I wandered to the back trying remember what I was forgetting. They have a cattery set up by local rescue groups.
This morning one of the volunteers was in there cleaning cages. I saw cats scrambling at her feet. One was a brown tabby...looked like Delilah, one of the cats we used to have. He's giving that come hither stare and I just had to go in and say hello. I sat on a bench and was surrounded by three gorgeous kitties.
The purring and the licking and the loving that went on...If it wasn't for Sophie we'd have three more cats right now. But what was amazing was how much more relaxed I felt as I left the room. It was as good for me as it was for them. What do you do that gets you all zen?
