Firefox using a lot of memory the past 2 days

Browser freezes. Have to go into Task Manager and end process. There it is sometimes showing over 80% usage.
I'm having huge problems with Firefox myself currently.. but then my whole Mac is being problematic. Yesterday I ununstalled and reinstalled Firefox, it was a PITA.. it just wouldn't behave, even the new installation... but today it's working as well as it has for a week or 2.. got the Apple Mac guy coming out on Saturday to have a look at what the problem is with the software genreally..

I've got Chrome, Firefox and Edge installed on my computer. 99% of the time I use Google Chrome. On the rare occasion that I try to use Firefox, I am always amazed at how Slow it is.

In the upper right corner, click the Firefox menu
Fx89menuButton
and select Exit. Wait until Firefox has completely quit.

After that's done, search "How to clear Firefox cache" and follow directions.

Anyone having issues with Firefox ought be using the Task Manager and just kill its processes when it refuses to be shut down.

Worst behavior of Firefox has become its insistence of restoring previous sessions without a simple way to start a fresh new browser session. Instead, one must wait until it starts trying to load a previous session and abort from that. However it may take several minutes to reach that point.

I ALWAYS turn my computers off when I am not going to be using them, especially overnight. Thus they need to fully boot up from a reset power off. I also don't boot with quick versions of power up diagnostics. So yeah requires several minutes to stabilize.

In some situations will use the Task Manager to exit Firefox, especially when it is not responding to my Mouse because it is supposedly too busy. What it usually does then is doggedly go into the background trying to save the same session. Thus I annoyingly have to End Task on all those processes too.

In Firefox > click Help > click More Troubleshooting Information

3 Options to choose from:
Give Firefox a tuneup
Diagnose Issues
Try Clearing startup cache

Also could be a Firefox Add-on you are using that is causing the issue
All 3 good ideas; seems like for me, though, when I used to use Ff more, Repair or Re-installing worked the best.

Tips, but no instruction on how to do them.
click Refresh Firefox
window warning will popup
any customizations to Firefox will be lost
any Addons/extensions will be removed from Firefox
click Refresh Firefox in the popup window or (click cancel if you don't want to continue )
Sit back and let it do its thing
