flu and the "new pneumonia" shots UPDATE

Bad news! It's not FREE and covered by Medicare. I paid $250 for mine. It might be covered by some insurances but definitely not medicare.

Depends on your prescription plan whether shingles vaccination is covered. Interesting, really, 'cuz the vaccinations are routinely given by pharmacy personnel.

My prescription drug coverage does cover the shingles vaccine. I'm guessing those not yet retired may or may not be covered by their employers' plans.

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) normally covers one flu shot per flu season in the fall or winter.
