A flying car the size of a folded-up ping pong table and capable of speeds of up to 160mph has completed its first untethered flight. The ZERO aircraft, made by US company ZEVA, is entirely electric, meaning it produces no emissions. It’s “not for the faint-hearted”, says The Times. Once airborne, the ZERO turns on its side and flies horizontally, like a frisbee, with the sole passenger “in a prone position” facing the ground. The firm is planning to start taking $5,000 deposits in the spring, and the total price is expected to be $250,000.

Quite so, if you are going to have flying cars, lets at least make them to look like flying cars.

If it held more than one person it could be used as an emergency rescue vehicle.

I doubt it will be popular, but it is an interesting concept.

Emergency rescue vehicle is a great idea, especially when it gets improvements such as passengers not lying prone.
Yeah, that's not good.

But I'm sure improvements are coming. I love it!

Actually, flying cars might just work. With flying cars, we won't need paved roads, interstates, bridges, nor ferries. We could save all the cash on building and maintaining them, plus free up lots of land. And maybe advanced computer systems will keep us from crashing into each other.
