For The Love Of Dogs

Belle, our first dog, whelped in March 2008. A purebred golden retriever, she was sweet and compliant, but she had a TON of health problems -- heart murmur, skin allergies, cataracts, everything but hip dysplasia. When she passed in 2019, her medical file was 2 inches thick. Goldens are beautiful animals, but due to a lot of breeding issues and their popularity, having one can be very, very expensive.

My niece has moved away and has asked me to send her pics and clips of my doggy. So here are a couple I took of me with Ember at the local dog park yesterday.

Got a nice surprise on Saturday when I ran into another McNab shepherd named Misha and his owners who live just inland from me. The owner asked me how old and where she came from. Turns out they both came from Laytonville and were born on the same day from the same parents, Ember and Misha are siblings. First one we ever met. They plan to being him back to this dog park about monthly so we look forward to more reunions. Ember is smaller of course and Misha has more black on his face.

I got Ember a little later and the breeders brought her a bit further South for me to pick her up so I never met the parents or saw the ranch where they were raised but my new friend did and shared some pics with me.

In this picture Ember is on the far left and Misha is far right with another sibling laying on him.

In this one Misha is looking at the camera and Ember is far right looking in that direction.
