For those vaccinated for covid 19, a question.

I initially took my Covid vaccines both #1 #2 and then the Booster
mostly due to the requirements of my job, it was not mandatory
but it surely was firmly stressed to get them done. I did not actually
get covid, until 6 months after my Booster. My symptoms were mild.

Would I get another covid vaccine in the future? I am leaning towards
NO at this time.

I had a very bad reaction to the Moderna vaccine. I am still dealing with the health issues it caused 2 years later. I will never have another one. I don't get the flu vaccine either. I am not antivax. I vaccinated my son and I was vaccinated as a child, but I will never put anything into my body again that is not absolutely necessary. I feel the same way about medications. I don't take any unless I must, no antibiotics either. Medications come with side effects. I like to be as clean as possible. I am the same with the food I eat.

What made you decide to get vaccinated with the covid 19 vaccine? No one knew much about it even in 2021 the year of rollout.

Thanks for your participation.

It was the best choice based on current data at the time. I wanted to protect myself. I cared about giving the virus to others. There are a whole lot of people complaining today, but these armchair journalists don't seem to appreciate that we didn't know much then,

If I knew then, what I knew now? I'd of gotten vaccinated sooner.

I haven't commented on this subject much because it's so filled with anti - vac BS most of which is based on the opinions of other people's opinions, What really puzzles me, is why you're so determined to vilify vaccines and all the people associated with it. If you don't believe in the, then don't make use of them. Do you need other detractors to make you comfortable about your decision? Isn't it somewhat cruel to dissuade others not to take advantage of them on even a slim chance it might save their life? There are some people who are genetically immune to some diseases and some who cannot benefit from the vaccine doe to genetic resistance. Then there's the placebo effect; a strong belief can actually effect a cure or strengthen the "cure" response to what would either be ineffective - or weak. You are destroying that possibility. You are not doing anyone any favors by your attempts . It really puzzles me.
Some of the medical problems cropping up may be the result of unknown preexisting conditions that have not yet been diagnosed for various reasons

Just curious. Why are you leaning towards NO? The vaccine seems to have protected you well!

During my Navy days and up until now, I have been vaccinated against every disease known to man. Not one bad reaction! For those who are nervous, I have reached 87 years with all that "stuff" going into my body! In connection with Covid I figured that Dr. Fauci et. al might not know everything about the shot yet but that they wouldn't put millions of lives at risk at a whim! I honestly don't understand anti-vaccers unless they have a fear of needles. Since I had a burly, brave Navy friend who fainted at the sight of needles, I understand that fear!

Was it for a health issue? Did you have a job that required vaccination? Would you have been prohibited from travel ? Would you have had to separate from people/groups that you liked? Other? Please share.

Have you received booster shots? How many boosters have you received? How many more will you take?

Are you in any way surprised the unvaccinated are still alive?

Thanks for your participation.
My daughter has a PHD in biology. She understands the science behind it a lot better than I ever could. I trusted her judgment as well as my doctor's (who is also a friend). I am up to date on my Covid vaccines. I have never had Covid. I have two friends who got Covid before the vaccines were available, who still struggle, over three years later, with long term issues (and both are 20 years younger than I and were in decent shape before they became ill).
Many members of my huge extended family and my circle of friend all of whom were vaccinated, got mild cases of Covid, including many elders (two over 80) and folks with existing health issues. None of them had long term issues. The vaccines work, people. Are they perfect? No vaccine is. But they keep you out of the hospital, for the most part. I also know no one who has had any serious issues from the vaccines . I'll keep on getting them. I expect I'll catch Covid eventually, and I expect the vaccine will keep me alive.

Two things went wrong with that.

The mRna caused the immune system to go into over-drive, and it leeched through blood vessels, bringing the spike protein with it. The most frequent side-effect of that was blood clots and embolisms.

In hundreds of thousands of people who were vaccinated, those side-effects ranged from bad to deadly.
Cite? Show me the science on that. Hundred of thousands? Show me the papers . Where are you getting your information?

Considering I have COPD & asthma and was high risk, in a high risk job, I decided to try it. I had no clue if I would have a bad reaction to it but I was right there at the hospital so if something happened I knew I'd be ok. I did it to protect myself from the possibility of being hospitalized and possibly dying. Lost my mother in 2021 because she refused to try it because the dr didn't think she should.

Dad and I both did and are still here to talk about it. I also did it in an effort to protect the patients we had to be around at work. Unfortunately our facility no longer seems to care about that initial safety.

I've had 4 Pfizer's in the past few years and just got Moderna today. I have seen a pretty good pick up in Covid cases here so I thought it was best since many of the patients are being hospitalized this year.

No, not surprised that the unvaccinated are still alive. Some that didn't think they'd get it have finally gotten it this year and they're not quite as outspoken about it. It has kept me from being admitted to the hospital and dying twice now. Without it I likely wouldn't be here anymore.

The second time I had it I didn't get any Paxlovid and it created a massive COPD exacerbation for me that led to my first ambulance ride. No hospital stay though. The only side effects I've ever had from them is flu like symptoms such as chills and aches and pains and a sore arm and being tired. Expected effects when it is working to build up your immunity. I've had no other ill health effects that haven't been brought on by my own lifestyle.

If things go well, I plan to get one annually if they make them available to us. However if I have to start coughing up $200 for a vaccine then I won't be getting anymore. My job offers our vaccines free so far. Depending on how things go this winter will depend on whether or not I get another shot next year.

If for some reason I get Covid right away then next year I will wait and see what happens with just the masking.

I've never gotten a vaccination for anything my entire adult life, and I've never been sick from a virus.
Super powers? Nope. I'm just a regular person.
But how I live my life is completely different from you people who take drugs.
My secret? I think for myself, I don't go to doctors, don't use any drugs, and I don't watch the news.
If you seriously want to be safe from viruses - and their treatments - then you should be listening to people like me.

So you've been lucky.
Yes, I'm lucky that I've chosen to take good care of myself and to not believe the BS.

I sure hope for your sake you never need any drugs.

The reason for getting the Covid vaccine: same as for any other pro-active medical treatment, like the flu shot, pneumonia shot, the shingles vaccine, and hopefully soon- the RSV vaccine.
I'm up to date with booster shots, just got the latest one last Tuesday. I suspect they'll be an annual Covid booster, much like the flu shot that I've been getting, for the last 40 years.

Are you in any way surprised the unvaccinated are still alive?
Why do you ask that? I am saddened by the passing of 4 people I knew, that didn't get vaccinated for Covid.

The Lancet

New England Journal of Medicine

It's been so long I don't remember the titles of specific studies and papers. And that's just a partial list. I also read some studies conducted at some medical universities in the US, a few in England, and at least one in Canada. I can only suggest going to the websites and use search words and terms like post-vaccine thrombosis, post-vaccine myocarditis, post-vaccine DVT, mRna spike protein in vital organs, mRna vaccine adverse events, and so on.

People on both sides feel the exact same about their personal covid 19 vaxx decision so it's hard to know what the truth is.

Those vaccinated believe the vaxx helped them survive covid with mild symptoms but that might have happened anyway? We don't know. Just as the unvaxxed who survived covid with mild symptoms believed all along they would be fine even without vaccination. But a belief is not a fact. It may be more powerful, who knows? It's been an interesting response from everyone who has participated and I thank you for your input.:)
I just feel like some people have a higher risk of getting Covid and getting it more severely than others due to some of the more severe health issues that some of us have & perhaps being in higher risk situations. I have to go into patient rooms and clean them in the ER before their test results are back which exposes me to it on a daily basis.

So I don't mind the vax. I haven't had Covid since March of this year. Just waiting to see how things go this year. As bad as it was the second time around without the Paxlovid, I really believe there's a chance I could've died.

Whatever your decision is, is up to you. You gotta do you.

So you've been lucky. I'm not sure of the point here. We don't all get diseases. It's just like some people smoke and die a horrible early death, while others smoke into their 90's. It's got nothing to do with thinking for yourself, not going to doctors, not using drugs (which I assume you mean prescribed medication) and not watching the news (?!?!) Over a million Americans lost their lives to Covid. You didn't. That's great news, but there's no need for this conspiracy thinking.

Now, you've apparently managed to get through life never needing to go to hospital, never needing a bone fixed, pain relief, or surgery of any kind. I'm happy for you. But it's not the same for everyone.

That’s what I was going to say! I mean THE PLAGUE, THE FLIPPING BUBONIC PLAGUE! That was my favorite. Yellow Fever was another one.

So, you’ve never had a cold.
You were never in the military.
Never got a puncture wound.
You’ve never been to the doctor.
blah, blah, blah
And I don’t believe a word of that.

There is an ongoing movement to attack any and every institution. This is especially true when it comes to organizations or people with authority. Expertise is now a red flag. Some people think they can know everything an expert knows by doing a couple Google searches, reading a paper that's been cherry picked, and getting affirmation from nobodies on Social Media. There is no respect for education.

Education = Indoctrination
Authority = Part of the conspiracy
Expert = biased people working for the elites
Statistics = lies

There's a big circle jerk that goes on with the internet on the likes of Telegram, Truth Social, etc. The whole time line of Covid 19 is now ignored. It's as though some people think we knew what we do now at the very beginning. We didn't. It took a monumental effort to get us some level of protection, but instead of celebrating American ingenuity, they call it the poisoning of the masses.

It's all part of a movement that wants to discredit the institutions that made the US the greatest country on earth. Once you've convinced people not to listen to anyone with authority, experts, and so on - you can fill their head with anything, and can be easily led. Personally, I think it's a bit of a madness.
