Former Pope Benedict XVI has died

Meh...that is an antiquated concept, arising from the era when people were more superstitious and creeped out about death. Religious beliefs probably played a part in this, like "If I speak ill of the dead, I'll go to hell." There's nothing wrong with being honest and expressing our opinions that the deceased was a less than wonderful person. I just wouldn't do it within earshot of their loved ones who are mourning them. That would be tacky and disrespectful.

I agree here as well.

And in my opinion, the heinous acts against humanity that the RC Church has committed far outweighs any good it has done. Your comment is like saying, "Adolph Hitler made some good contributions and is worthy of some praise."

"Adolph Hitler made some good contributions and is worthy of some praise."

Many German people thought so, for quite sometime. When it was thought he was only rebuilding Germany after WWl.

I'm aware of that. My point is, people will revere and worship practically anyone if they're gullible, ignorant and brainwashed.

Following CNN news piece reasonably summarizes Benedict's life. Those constantly indiscriminately critical of his life as well as most other Catholic authorities are obviously playing a manipulative anti religious media game or rather war. But their bias has been so obvious over years that they have little credibility with most of their general public audience and instead just incite others in their own loud choir and those easily outraged by any terse manipulative voices. Most of us don't even bother arguing with them (including this Christian) because anyone can readily read more comprehensive articles and opinions on this mature subject. And of course, it goes beyond the scandal facet below often pointing to religious events centuries ago during the Middle Ages when political powers with agendas dominated church authorities just as happened during most centuries in the Old Testament. In the same manipulative way, such loud voices often narrowly point to Creationist primitive science views to condemn all Christians.

So what? The bottom line is, the Roman Catholic Church has been a corrupt organization for centuries and has been responsible for countless crimes against humanity. Doesn't matter which pope is in charge. So Benedict allegedly dealt with 848 priests who were accused of molesting children. Those molestations shouldn't have happened in the first place. The fact that sexual abuse has been rampant in the church for decades speaks volumes about how "ungodly" it is, and always has been.

Actually, if one bothers, researching this subject discloses that all religions have had their share of ****** child abuses. It is inexcusable regardless.
True, but the RC Church is one of the largest Christian denominations, so abuses have been rampant for decades in many countries. There have been thousands of victims. And, unlike most other religions, the church has done better than most at covering up their crimes.

Ok, I think you made your point.
