France putting domestic abuse victims in hotels

Domestic abuse is becoming a big issue in France during the virus. So much so that they have had to put victims up in hotels.

So sad. Have read reports that domestic violence calls are up pretty much everywhere. Heartbreaking for children who no longer have the respite of school or playing outdoors.

I actually stayed at one of those, here in the states , several years back. I finally asked the desk clerk about why so many woman there, had black eyes etc...She told me why....the manager came flyin' out of his office, told her not to ever reveal that, ask me not to repeat it. Which I have not, except to those I knew would be sympathetic about it. And even here, I won't reveal just where it was.

Sort of a 'safe-house' I guess....And of course, IMO, most will return to hubby, just as soon as he 'gets-out', apologies , she gets lonely, the rent comes due, etc,etc.......The cycle continues.

Domestic violence is always a problem in Australia and nationally women are killed by an intimate partner at roughly one per week. For this reason some state premiers are halting sales of firearms and ammunition after seeing a spike in sales because of corona virus social isolation
