Gentle posts for gentle folks

I was just going to ask if you got a major amount. I hear bits and pieces on national weather reports and never know exactly where these apply to our members.
About 4 inches, I would guess, Jules. Added to the 3 inches we got, about a week ago, so there's a nice white coating on everything.

And today it was a wet enough snow, to stick to each bare tree branch and look like vanilla icing, on every single shrub branch, dried plant, and trees both small and huge, from Christmas type trees to large maples, oaks and birch. A nice winter scene, without the large pile-up. And without ice, thankfully.

I want to know, though, is it getting close to Springtime yet?!

Beautiful! What's his/her name? I have one female, old. Do you have more than one, @Pam?
It's my son's family dog. Named Rocco by my granddaughters. When my last dog died I was heartbroken and said I wasn't going to have another one. My son then asked if they got a dog would I be willing to look after it weekdays while they were at work so of course I said yes. Son's partner had never had a dog before, and she wasn't interested in dogs generally, but agreed to getting one after pressure from my son and granddaughters. Now, she is absolutely smitten with Rocco and he loves her to bits, she's definitely his favourite person. :)

Good morning, Kaila and everyone. Just been round the park with my doggie friend. It's another lovely, sunny morning. 45F. Here in the southernmost tip of Cumbria, England, we rarely get much in the way of snow. It did snow a few weeks back, about an inch, and was gone within 24 hours. At the moment, it is certainly feeling a bit Springlike.

Absolutely no one, thanks for asking, RR.:rolleyes:
Which means that most of them are going undone.
I just cannot stretch myself, nor my dear dh, to do any more than focus on the very most crucial issues, regarding our health and recoveries, mostly. And necessary bill-paying and such.

Very little of the housework is getting done; we're just trying to have clean dishes, and healthy food, and the fewest needed of clean clothing, so far.
Sheesh, it would all be out-of-pocket 100% cost, to have any housework help. They just don't offer that, otherwise, here.
The one person who had originally promised to help us out a lot, has not wanted to follow through on that, at all.

I'm just focusing on what is absolutely necessary for now, and on trying to maintain my improvements, and to get stronger, as much as I possibly can. Then, I'll go from there.
Sounds good; you're on top of what's necessary and smart to use your energy mostly for building yourself up.

It's a shame that the one you counted on to assist has not.

I hope this day progresses nicely for you and huz.

Oh, I have cardinals coming around now that I throw some seed on the ground!

Thank you so much for that validation, RadishRose. It's quite confusing and could easily be overwhelming, but I'm trying to do as well as I'm able.
It's a new normal for dh and for myself, since I got back home.

There's no rest for the weary, as they say.
Since I returned home from hospital and rehab stints, he's had numerous unexpected medical issues, that need attention.

I'm glad I'm here to help. And I'm thankful I've recovered enough to help him.
I also need to keep recovering.

At some point, we sure need some housework done, and I have no idea how that's going to happen. Yes, it's very disappointing and heartbreaking, that the person is completely unavailable now.

But we're managing pretty well, all things considered.
I'm gathering a lot of support from having this thread here.
Thank you, everyone!

That's a lovely story about Rocco and about all of you, Pam. Thanks for sharing it here with us! 🥰 (y) ☺️

That sounds wonderful, Pam.
And what a delightful picture! The beautiful blue, rippling water and the swans, and the background of green shrubs.

Oh, I have cardinals coming around now that I throw some seed on the ground!

That's great to hear!
I know they are natural ground feeders so they love it that way. They also like it sprinkled near the edge of shrubs, that they can partially hide under if wanted.

They're quite brave though and eat it from our birdseed dishes, in the open, too.

Are you seeing both the males and females?
The males will also take seeds and feed them to the females, as well.
Year round.... they don't mind the cold winters!

Just catching up @Kaila and it's good to hear that you are managing at home. It is a shame that, as you and your husband both have medical issues, that there is no help available to you. One of my friends who had surgery a while back was referred to a hospital team which provides help to people after they leave hospital, they provide help with household chores and shopping.

Best wishes to you and your husband, it is good you have each other. x
