Getting Vital records information

anyone know a "free" way to find out a date of a divorce?

So no, I don't keep track of those dates, I was married so many times I lost count, so maybe I'm still married to some of them for all I know:lofl:

Did them myself, the divorces I mean;) Some think the X's are buried someplace, but no, I unlocked their cage and set them free:lofl:

There is, you just can't get one free. You have to order it, and pay them to look it up and send it:(

Thank you Mirabillis,

I haven't checked there I don't think, but I will look. Those are said to be public records, but it doesn't mean they are free unfortunately. Anyone can get a copy though, so if need be, I will just order one;) thanks again and a big hug, Denise

I got it, I actually got a young man on the phone, and phenagled enough info out of him to know the date. I will need the certified copy, most likely, when I file my SS, but I will be eligible to half the first X's benefits, with no skin off his nose. I read about it, and it doesn't take away from what he gets, I am just able to draw on half his amount, which may or may not be more than what I am getting. I never asked for anything from the men in my life, honestly, I just wanted them to love me, heck, I wanted them to "like" me. But I was wild, and lots of issues, don't blame any of them. The first beat the tar out of me, held a gun to my head, and threw me in the Coos river to drown me. I survived, obviously. I didn't stick around for more, wasn't the type. Left, but we neither filed for divorce until years later.

There may be some law that says since I wasn't living with him I can't file on his SS, but we'll see. He may or may not have made more than I and as most of you know, I would only get half of what he has in SS. But if it's more then mine, and I'm allowed, I'll take it.

Maybe there is still someone around here that knows more about this. I was married 2 more times after that, so who knows, just worth a shot.

Nope, only 9 years, LOL! Never mind:) It's ok, I won't need his SS, just thought it could be a good Plan B.

NW!!!!! Its me ,.HARRY, where the hells my alimony.(G)

NWL, I think that SS will usually choose how you can get the best benefit, and that is what you should receive. I think you have to have been married at least 10 years before you can draw on a former spouse's SS pension. My friend here was drawing on her own SS retirement, but the SS found that she would receive more from on of hr ex-husbands SS pension; and they upgraded her, plus back pay.
You might find more information on the SS website, too, if you have not looked there.

Thanks HFL, it is 10 years, and if I added all my marriages together I would have it, dern, LOL!!
