Ghislaine Maxwell Sentenced today

I am not in ANY way defending Maxwell. What she did was absolutely abhorrent and despicable. I haven’t followed the case very closely so I don’t have all the details.

What I DO know, having lived with a domineering and controlling man for 30+years who I have come to realize is a sociopath, I will say that when you’re subjected to that level of domination and manipulation, you change. You become someone else. It becomes a survival mechanism.

If you haven’t experienced it, it’s impossible to understand and I won’t belabor it here. I could write pages and it STILL wouldn’t be understandable or likely even believable. But it’s true nonetheless and countless papers have been written about the phenomena.

If she was controlled or dominated by that wicked, soulless man, in the way that only a sociopath can, then it’s plausible that she was so completely taken over that nothing became more important than her survival, than pleasing him, than doing his bidding.

Again, I’m not defending her. I don’t know their relationship but I’ve lived with a level of domination that made me do things I’m not proud of. At the time it was the only way I could continue to survive the relationship.
Ronni, I just want you to know I believe everything you stated here. And I'm so sorry. 🤗

She wasn't just the hirer and firer she was fully involved in the sexual abuse with the girls too... she was besotted by Epstein, he was only marginally interested in her,..his passion was for the young, and she took up the mantle to get that for him as long as he didn't terminate their relationship, she was perfectly happy doing it.

her Defence try to portray her as the little manipulated woman to Epsteins' powerful persona... couldn't be further from the truth.

She was not held against her will, she's from a very Rich and powerful family who could have crushed Epstein financially and any other way... .. she was and is, as the victims reported over and over again, the leader of the pair when it came to the abuse

As far as I can see there is no justice in this world.
The justice system is skewed (or screwy) at best. She gets 20 years for sex trafficking but R. Kelly, a Black man got 30 years. I highly doubt he "trafficked" (really he had sex with underage teens) as many as she and Epstein did. The judge allegedly took into account that he was himself a victim of child abuse. I'm glad the "I Believe I Can Fly" singer is getting what he deserves. He won't be flying anymore. I might add that I've read a few stories about White boys who were clearly guilty of rape who got off scott free!

I don't disagree with you. But Maxwell comes from money, so that ensures she receives the mildest sentence possible in a jail that is more like a a country club. R. Kelly only has his music to defend him, so he receives a more stringent sentence. I still believe he is a despicable human being.

I also agree that there are so many cases of young white men who were acquitted of rape when they should have been locked up. No, our justice system isn't fair.

I've said this myself and I don't believe in justice. It can happen. But what about all those that will never see it. In the past also. So when people like to claim they are a 'social justice warrior.' Good luck with that. Usually it's all about them anyway.

A number of years ago there was an event at work and I got two call messages from the department of justice. Both of which I ignored. I never heard from them again. I was low priority. I was in the building at the time, but had no knowledge or involvement in it. I didn't hear about it until days later anyway. Looking it up online, the charges against the employee were eventually dropped. Bet is scared the crap out of them though.

And I would have told them point blank I don't believe in justice. Once employee who was involved in this incident had them come to her home. If that happened to me I literally would have probably started screaming at them.

I can't speak for anyone else, but if my experiences are common some of us had what I'd call sources of resilience that basically kept us intact, whereas others may not have been so fortunate.
There are a couple of resiliency tests you can take online regarding childhood trauma and abuse. Can take them for what they are worth. One has 14 questions, and I'm not lying, I can claim one.
