Verisure's thread of Bad Actors got people's interest; are there any Good Actors?

The screenplay makes the Actor, you can't have inane writing and expect your actor to salvage your movie.

Candidate for good actor
Nick Nolte in 'The Prince of Tides'
the script used scene after scene and dialogue straight form the novel

Joe Morton, he's been good in everything I've seen him in but he acted his a*s off in the Scandal T.V. series, for which he won an Emmy. He's also won a Tony Award as well as other awards.

And I gotta say it...my cousin Keith David, who's been in countless movies and TV shows. He's also appeared on Broadway and was the lead actor in Greenleaf which wrapped last year. He's one of the hardest working actors in the business as shown on his Wikipedia page:

Keith was great in Crash.

One of my favorites was Platoon, I forgot he was in that, he just goes along doing his job like a true professional, you should be proud of him.
My family and I are very proud of him! When I saw Platoon, only one of the two war movies I could stand to watch, I didn't even know we were related. Then my aunt told me when I visited her in the hospital....I forgot how we got onto the subject. Then I realized I'd seen him in the movie. Years later, I met his grandmother when she came to a family reunion planning meeting as the N.Y. representative. At one of the reunions, she proudly talked about Keith when she took the podium. Subsequently she and I had several phone conversations and she'd tell me how happy she was to visit Keith in California. He had a room especially for her.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go to the one family reunion he attended in Connecticut. My elderly mom was sick. But another cousin, Kendra introduced herself at the urging of our cousin Bernadine and told Keith she wanted to be in the business. He invited her to come to Cali, live with him and his wife (she also babysat when not on casting calls) and she wound up acting in a Tyler Perry movie, T.V. show as well as other projects. From all accounts, Keith is a very nice person.

I especially loved Walter Matthau in "Hop Scotch" OMG what great facial expressions.
PS: As a Jew, he refused to go to Germany for that filming. I can't say I blame him one bit. All scenes were he is supposed to be in Germany were filmed elsewhere.

Anthony Hopkins is a good actor. We just finished a mini-series named QB VII starring Anthony Hopkins and Ben Gazzara. It was a made-for-TV series but Anthony Hopkins made it particularly captivating. He's been good in some other movies... his portrayal of Dr. Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs was probably his biggest role.

Christian Bale's been good in many roles. Jake Gyllenhaal, too.

Ralph Fiennes, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Kevin Spacey are still alive. And there's a new actor I like, Barry Keoghan, but I've only seen him in one film; The Killing of a Sacred Deer. I didn't like the movie, but his performance was very intriguing. Oh, Colin Farrell was in it, and he's great.
Colin Farrell is one of the more underrated actors around today. He's been great in quite a few roles. Kevin Spacey is a pervert.
