The fountain of youth? Human trials could start next year, the hope being to develop
treatments for age-related diseases such as cancer.

Just what the planet needs, more humans living, and presumably breeding longer. This is smart how exactly??

Ecologically sound is it? Not enough power or space to go around now and they're spending money and brain cells on compounding the problem?

How much of this is science driven and how much ego driven? Are 'our' few generations so special they should be preserved for longer than their use-by dates?? Are we going to stop breeding future generations so we won't all starve to death? Not real good news for those who will never get a turn at stuffing the planet up for themselves is it? Hardly seems fair really.

Are people who are adamant that euthanasia is ruled out because it interferes with the natural life span going to forgo this treatment??
I should bloody well hope so! Prolonging lifespan is interfering with 'God' and nature to a greater degree than ending it prematurely.

Maybe it's only meant for rich people? Or 'scientists'? Or smarter yet, perhaps they're wasting megabucks on producing immortal mice?!
Now there's a useful bit of scienctific brilliance to win a prize for. Gimme a break!

(It might have one bright side, it will put the 'Fountain of Youth' snake oil types out of business.)

On the contrary - the Philstivus News network has reported that this technology is being adopted by Cenegenics as a keystone of their program. Dr. Hymie Methuselah of the Wilkes Barre (PA) aging management center "100 or Bust" was quoted as saying:

We plan on implementing NMN as soon as we can source it on eBay. Simultaneously we will eliminate the diet, nutrition and exercise modules from our program, as they haven't shown any firm results and take too long in any case. We're keeping the human growth hormones, though, and the testosterone shots have always been popular so they're staying as well.
