Groceries today totaled almost $100!

I'm not sure how much my groceries have increased because I used to shop once a week all in one store, but the past months I've been doing small shopping stops 3 or 4 times a week between two different stores. It feels like it has gone up a lot.

My daughter just renewed her healthcare, and she is going to have to pay 14 times more monthly, plus one of her doctors isn't in network now and she doesn't want to change doctors (I suppose once she has to pay full price she'll decide to change doctors). Also the deductible amount has increased.

I didn't see a loaf of major brand whole-grain bread for less than $5. A package of 8 hot dogs was $7.99.
are these hotdogs of which you speak...American Huge?

Here hotdogs are really cheap...one of the cheapest thing you can buy but they're only about 3 or 4 inches long.. the much bigger ones in a jar are £2.85... still very cheap

5 dollar for a bread? Wow. It's 2 euro here if it's from a bakery and otherwise 1 euro. Lately I baked one myself for 90 cent, a kilo of flour. Maybe that's an idea? Or is flour also crazy expensive?
bread is expensive here too now compared to even just a year ago... but nowhere nearly as expensive as $5... a loaf...

..because bread has risen in price so much I refuse now to buy white bread or any bread that has ingredients which are a bit dubious.. instead if I'm going to be paying good money I buy the best quality bread I can, there's only about £1 o £1.50 difference per loaf between the highest and lowets quality now, whereas there used to much more of a difference in price between basic white bread, and rustic wholemeal../granary...

I pay $3.49 for a loaf of low carb, low calorie bread. I could get a loaf for $1.28 but I choose the "better for me" kind.
I buy hot dogs for $3.97, but for the frugal person or those required to count pennies, the Bar S brand at WalMart is $1.00 for an 8-pack.
It’s similar here in Central New York, a 22 ounce loaf of Wegman’s white bread is a $1.39, Wegman’s 20 ounce whole wheat is $2.49.

There are many options and price points in almost every category.

Honestly, I am shocked and surprised when the cashier rings up a total that's less than $100. This morning's trip to the grocery store was $184.36, but that did include a pound of ground chicken, a package of boneless chicken thighs, a bottle of wine and a couple bottles of whiskey, for the holidays.

Well, then, who can answer?
I shop at Wegman's and use Arnold's breads. They are costly but worth it. AS for the hot dogs I will get eithr Nathans or Hebrew National. Nathans is not kosher but are approved for eating...no pork. H N are Kosher but are drier than Nathans.
