Gun massacre in Western Australia

A murder/suicide of a family of 4 children, their mother and grandparents, seven deaths in all, has rocked the town of Margaret River. It appears that the grandfather killed his family, then himself after ringing the police. The children were home schooled by their mother and are reported to all be on the autism spectrum. Neighbours are shocked and by all accounts the family was well liked.

This is the worst gun massacre since Port Arthur in 1996 when 35 members of the public were shot dead by lone gunman Martin Bryant. 23 people were seriously wounded. Port Arthur was the tipping point that caused the government to introduce uniform firearms legislation in every state and territory.

How awful! I can't help but wonder what sent this guy over the edge that he would murder his own family - especially children! He had to have had some mental health issues.
