Well, thank you everyone for your good wishes. It is now mid morning on 16th March and I am newly arisen, having slept in. We kept things very low key yesterday but had a night out at a new Vietnamese/French fusion restaurant where one of our granddaughters has secured employment after her maternity break for our first grandchild. We had intended to make it a party of four, just us and hubby's younger brother and his wife. They are another long joined couple having celebrated 50+ years of marriage.
We didn't tell anyone else but the granddaughter wasn't rostered on last night and came along with her husband and the 18 month old. We have seen him very little since Covid arrived and any excuse to get together is very welcome, so we were a multigenerational party of seven.
The food was excellent, Vietnamese style dishes, but more delicately flavoured than other Asian cuisines. For a set price we could order as many dishes to share as we wanted, and there were many to choose from.
We have a large extended family and next Saturday we will be together for the birthday of our daughter's mother in law at the Ettamogah Pub. There are a chain of Ettamogah pubs that are styled after the pub depicted in some iconic Australian cartoons.

The following weekend our son is coming up to Sydney for a visit. It is also our grand daughter's 29th birthday so the family will come together once again. Now you can see why we chose yesterday to be very low key. 2023 will be a big bash though, with the whole mob invited.
