Has anyone not had covid as far as you know?

Nobody in my immediate family has had Covid. We all have had every vaccine and booster recommended and we still mask anytime we are indoors with people.

I see almost nobody masking anymore even at doctor’s offices but we have decided that it is no big deal to wear a mask and we do. Besides Covid, we hope to prevent getting the flu, RSV and the Noro virus that is currently circulating.
We spend a lot of time outdoors when the weather permits where we don’t mask.
I still see people wearing masks. Maybe they have health issues and want to keep others from catching something. I never judge though, but I know other people who get very angry when they see it.

It's odd that so many anti-vaxxers seem to know dozens of people who died or got serious ill from getting the covid vaccine. It's highly likely the people they "know" are just people they've heard about on cable news shows or YouTube videos, and may not even actually exist. They don't "know" these people; they "know of" them, but from spurious sources.
First, I am not an anti-vaxxer. This is the first vax I have ever refused; I have missed a few influenza doses but not because I refused them. It just wasn't convenient due to location and time. You name the vaccination, I have probably had it, some twice.

Second, these people I "know" include the following:

*A family of four, and parents/grandparents of same (add three to that four) to whom I speak almost daily.
*A sibling and her family of three.
*Another sibling and her family of four.
*A close friend.
*Two neighbor families, I see and speak to them almost every day, total of 14 people. I also hire them to help with heavy/complicated work around my house and property.

Do you consider these "spurious sources"?

I do not watch cable news, except during the election and then I muted the sound. Just watched the numbers. I do not have any social media accounts (FB, X/Twitter, et.al.). YT videos are usually "how to" or reviews on certain products/materials. I admit some of those are doubtful, however. I can't say how many I watched on "how to install river pebble stone floors", many were quite complicated, some not. I had to pick and choose. So far, so good, lol; that floor gets very little traffic so fingers crossed on how that turns out in the long run. Same thing on corrugated steel siding.

It is interesting that some people have had negative side effects from the Covid-19 vax and many have not; both vaxed and unvaxed have been sick or not. I cannot answer why and apparently neither can the "experts". We all take our chances with this decision, either way; I have chosen not to take it and wish the best to those who do.

Whoa. Getting sick from nuts is for real. One of my relatives is allergic and has to carry an epi pen everywhere all the time. :(
I once had four anaphylactic reactions from something. Had an Epi pen. They couldn't figure out what was causing it, but it was really scary. Then it stopped! Fortunately for me it never happened again, and that was a few decades ago.

As far as I know, I have never had Covid, nor did my adult niece. DH did get it and still I did not. I self tested many times and always came up negative, plus two tests at the doctor's office came back negative. I think that even if I did get it, it would have been mild since I got the first series of three vaccines and then a booster just last year.

Yes, I have had run ins with people who were angry with me or made fun of me for wearing a mask. I really don’t understand it. Who cares what I wear? Why does it bother them? I don’t tell others what to wear. I thought the big concern was having a choice.

Some employees here in the store and restaurants are wearing masks now. It must be because of the flu or maybe covid. I quit wearing one after having the vaccinations and believing not necessary at this time.

Right there with you. My wife has conditions which have led her infectious disease doctor to tell her she simply mustn't ever catch Covid. So we always mask when we go indoors in public and choose less busy times. Haven't had a sit down meal out in ages. We're still Covid virgins.

But ventilation is getting better in many places. We went to the opening of an art show that included some of my wife's work last Friday and didn't need to mask, but we do mind our social distance. Not eager to share anyone's exhalations.

I have not had Covid but did have the vaccines and one booster. I still wear a mask when shopping and any where there is a crowd of people. I don't want to cough on anyone and I don't want people coughing on me.

I got the 2 series COVID shots in July and August of 2021. Never got the booster. I just got COVID for the first time in December 2024 before Christmas. I recovered fairly quick but getting COVID for the first time really depressed the heck out of me.

I have not had Covid. I've been fully vaccinated since vaccines were available. I also spent 2020-22 either at home or at the hospital because I was being treated for cancer then. I was not permitted to go to any public places or to be around anyone except my daughter (caregiver) because I barely had an immune system.

IRL everyone I know has had covid. Brother and SIL most recently just last week and they were vaccinated. I haven't had it in over a year.:)

I don't know anyone or have personally heard of anyone who got very sick or died from the vaccine. It seems to happen very rarely, and always seems to turn up on social media like this one.

I have tested positive once, after getting the vaccine, and was mildly ill for 2 days. I've had colds that were worse. I did have to stay in the house for over a week because I kept testing positive long after I got over it. Now, we know that you don't really have to do that. The positive test thing lasts much longer than the contagious period of the disease.

I am not sure if I got Covid, I got sick one day when DH was down with Covid for seven days; but I just felt a bit stuffy, no coughing or anything..so I have no clue in reality.

Wearing a mask was something I just didn't do; I refused to wear one the whole time everyone else was masking ad nauseam as wearing a mask and seeing people around me masked gave me panic attacks. I also know very few people even know how to mask up correctly and therefore it is a false security.
