Have you ever asked out your therapist?

Statistically, far more often with trauma patients. Almost exclusively.
(Why do I do this to myself?)

Transference is very common in therapy. I think you might be referring to intensity or type of transference. It can be much more intense and strong in trauma patients.

I'm going to leave this here; this conversation is starting to make me anxious. 😵‍💫

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. And I wasn't being argumentative.

I just had a thought...when I laughed your "I want to bake him cookies" comment, did you think that was a negative lol?

It wasn't. I thought that was the most delightful comment on this whole thread.

Sorry, Sunkist

Throughout the 1980s, I was a psychiatric nurse. That was a long time ago. Maybe the term transference has ..uh.. aged since then, like the term narcissist or psycho.

I like that picture. 😁
Sorry about what? are you saying you're the only person who knows anything?

No worries. You haven't upset me in any way.
Thank you for nice comment about my comment. 🤗 I understood it to be complimentary.
All good. ;)

Dating a therapist? Big mistake. Small world syndrome hit hard when our mutual friend circle became a gossip minefield. She demanded total secrecy, then accused me of spilling our tea faster than you can say "confidentiality breach."

We're all just walking psychological cocktails, shaken not stirred, with a splash of PTSD and a garnish of emotional baggage. Some days our relationships crash and burn, other days we miraculously tango through the chaos like emotional acrobats. Life: sometimes a tragedy, sometimes a comedy – always a wild dance. 💃🕺
