Have you lost height as you age?

Most men lie about their height. The average add on is probably around 2 inches.
Ridiculous but true. As a short 66" (now 65) Caucasian male that has never been bothered by about being short except for the sake of others behaviors, that is also reflected in so many men shorter than maybe 68 inches that purposely buy and wear shoes with tall soles....Yawn

You're very lucky to not have osteoporosis.
I don't think Osteoporosis is necessarily present in older people. I don't have it either.. altho' I do have as said before .. 7 herniated discs, and OA in my spine.. but I still stand tall...well as tall as I can be for my height lol

I lost 1 inch from 5 feet 11 1/2 inches down to 5 feet 10 1/2 inches. I hadn't noticed it, even on my pants, but my wife did. How does that happen? I guess I didn't lose it in my legs because my pants are still the same length, so where did I lose it?

I checked my height at my doctor's office, the state police academy and I measured it at home. All 3 agreed.

you lose it as your spine compresses...

Actually I have been using 2300 mg daily for about a year. I started it for the inflammation reduction benefits it offers.
I had back pain from 2010 after 3 surgeries. After using narcotics, this drug and that drug and this otc medicine and that oth medicine, getting Cortisone shots and Epidurals, tried a nerve stimulator from Boston Scientific, nothing worked.

Finally, 2 months ago, I had a nerve ablation done. That's where they cut off the ends of the nerves causing the pain and cauterize (burn) the ends shut. Success! About 80% of my pain is gone. I am going to ask to have the right facet done again. That's my only pain left and I can handle it because it is minimal, but if I don't have to tolerate it, I will get the ablation again. There is no pain during the procedure and you stay awake.

So now I recommend the ablation if people have made other attempts at having their pain go away or at least decreased. BTW, the nerve ends do grow back in time and will need to be redone.

Thank you for that. I have researched ablation. Have read the pros and cons. I may consider ablation. Are you starting to feel the pain again? Is there a limit on how many times this can be done?
