Have You Noticed A Decline In Quality Of Products You Regularly Buy?

I used to like tuna fish but now not only are the cans smaller but it is soupy. I quit eating it a long time ago.
There’s quality tuna that’s labelled ‘solid white tuna.’ Some regular tuna is more like fishy cat food. I’m really picky when it comes to tuna. I think maybe you picked the ‘cat food’ type tuna.

There's a rather expensive (well, by MY standards) frozen dinner I like to treat myself to occasionally. Previously, it had six chunks of cheese in it. I bought one last week and ate it. It had four chunks of cheese. The price certainly hasn't been reduced because of that.

I actually sent an email to the company complaining about that. I haven't heard back yet. Probably won't.

That reminds of a brand of chips I just had to report. Less than a 1/4 of a bag, and they were all broken. Of course they never contacted me and probably even laughed.

@katlupe
As someone else mentioned .. solid white tuna packed in water, is the best canned tuna. It may cost a bit more. It's the only canned fish I will eat. Not to mention, I'm allergic to salmon and any fatty fish.
I like canned salmon and even made like tuna fish sandwiches - better than tuna fish

Last year at this time I bought Girl Guide cookies. They are now labelled as having a chocolatey flavour, which was so fake that I threw them out. Then I saw many store brands were doing the same thing. I won’t buy them.

The few times I‘ve bought cookies, they have more interior packaging than cookies.

It would help to know what product you are talking about.

Is that the equivalent of Girl Scouts cookies?

chicken! imitation chicken is everywhere. real chickens are not layered. it has absolutely no taste. If u reheat it, it is tough, u can't even cut it.

canned tuna. my mom used to make 5 sandwiches on italian bread from one can. The can was bigger then. Now you are lucky if you can get 2 sandwiches. less tuna, higher price.

Shrink-flation seems to be everywhere these days. Whether they keep the size the same & up the price -or- they keep the price lower with reduced product amount, we still pay more.

For me, foil is so flimsy now no matter the brand that you have to double it up to keep it from tearing when you use it to line trays.

Tuna was 6 oz per can. Now it seems to be 5 oz per can.

Can you give some examples of "imitation chicken"? I have not come across that unless as Vegan product.

We make our tomato sauce in the kitchen. It makes a mess but we clean it up. Our shed is filled with garden stuff . We could probably do it in our garage. It’s got power but it’s also filled with wood dust from woodworking, so not sanitary enough. We will stick to the kitchen.

Yes Roma’s are best for making juice or sauce. Other types we get for making chow chow which is like a chutney.
@Kadee
We use a island bench in his shed ( cover it with newspapers ) it’s a fairly clean shed he’s got most things in cupboards including his battery lawn mower.

We really didn’t need to do any cutting cause id cut most of them before freezing ,so it was simply putting the tomatoes through the machine , ( got them out of freezer the night before ) cooking bottling the canning ( we’ve got a small portable gas cooker and an electric one as well )
The shed is 14 X 5 mtrs ( 45 foot x 15 ft )

That’s a huge shed. My garden shed is about 8 x 10, however the insulated garage is 24 x 24. It’s still messy though. 😬

There is much better canned tuna available, but it's expensive compared to the present day "cat food" being sold. Looks like they sell canned salmon too.

We keep the canner (23 Ltr) / the dehydrator / the jam making pan the 2 little cookers in the island bench so they are not cluttering up my kitchen cupboards …..they wouldn’t fit in my kitchen cupboards anyway .
We've also got the buckets we use for the outside fruit drying in the same island bench ,so they only see the light of day in fruit season ~ so it’s all nicely packed out of sight no dust gets in them .,no pests
talking about that haven’t seen a mouse in a long time ….they can stay away from me ….cause I scream if I see one
