Here in the mountains…

Good morning, Richard .. which mountains do you live in/near? I grew up in Vancouver, B.C. and miss seeing mountains. Have been in Toronto since the mid-60's.

Hi Pinky! They’re called the Blue Ridge Mountains, and are part of the Appalachians chain. They don’t look like the conventional image of a mountain range, more like hills, but they are above the 3,000ft elevation needed to be classed as a mountain.

I live 6 miles from the ridge of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. I spent most of my life just 70 miles west of the continental divide in Montana, so I consider the Blue Ridge as more like topographic relief. It's enough to keep me happy though.

Hi and Welcome, @Richardxbt!!
I did some growing up in the Blue Ridge, up in northern VA...
never been to Boone but glad to meet someone from there!!

I hope that you enjoy your time with us, and I hope to see you in the Forums!

Hi Ted,
Thanks for the nice welcome 🙏
This part of NC is close to the VA and TN lines, so it doesn’t take long to crossover. I’ve been as far north as Blacksburg, but never got to explore any further.
Virginia has some stunning scenery, so you are lucky to be in such a nice part of America!

HI Richardxbt, welcome glad you've joined us, the more the merrier
