Hero worship, have you ever been the subject of this or felt this way about others?

I can categorically state no one has ever told me I was their hero, though I've felt that way about others, (I'm referring to people I know, not high profile people who many might describe as a hero).

Many of us maybe felt one or other of our parents were a hero to us, in our early life or maybe well beyond, (so far as my feelings toward my dad!).

I may have been guilty too of putting my wife/girlfriend on a pedestal, though this isn't really feeling they were heroes, but of course it was a mistake nonetheless.

How about you, have you ever been considered a hero, oh and I must just mention a "forum hero", (but they knows who they are so I won't mention their name). :)

Oh yes!!

I may gild the lily a tiny bit
, and not many know it, but I was in fact Superman.

Alas, time has taken it's toll on my super body, and my fans, they don't expect to see me wearing spectacles, they don't realize my X-Ray vision has disappeared into some black hole, so I kept flying into large building and demolishing them. And because I'm now a Super-Fat Superman, when I landed in people's gardens, I started making great craters, so my friends, I announced my retirement some months ago, and my many fans came out in their thousands, cheering, such loyalty, it brought a super-tear to my eye. 😊

No, I don't believe I'm anyone's hero. ☺️ But I did greatly admire my maternal Grandmother and still try to be more like her in my daily life. I sometimes have quiet conversations with her in my mind during times of trouble and it helps. I also revered my paternal Aunt who was one of the most selfless saintly women I have ever known. I could never be like her cuz, I gotta be me. But throughout her life no one ever said a bad word about her no matter what fights or disagreements took place in the family she was always kind to everyone and never took sides. I would like to emulate that. She was love personified.

I had a wonderful family. I have been lucky in that at least.🤗

I recall many years ago, the late DJ, John Peel, once saying that these days anyone who can hold a guitar the right way round is hailed as a musical genius. In the same vein, anyone who works in nursing or medicine is a 'Hero'. Well, they're not. There are people doing a great job under great pressure, but labelling them all as 'Heroes', is simply devaluing the term.

My idol was Scot. I was four, and he was a lot older. He was six. He was a man of the world, He went to school, and could even read. He lived next door, and I used to sit on his steps, and wait for him to come home from school. He'd come home rush by then a few minutes later he came out to play. Of course, he played with the big kids, so I couldn't play. I totally worshipped him. I'm not sure he knew I was alive. We moved so I lost touch with him. That was many decades ago, but I remember thinking he was the coolest person in the world.

Yes. I love the service guys sent over to work on my broken down stuff. Want to take them for a roll in the hay when they are done. Never have though. I know some women do to reduce the bill, but I think that's tawdry. No they are my heroes and I ❤️ them. Don't care what they look like either, still ❤️ them.
