Hezbollah pagers(not cell phones) explode after an apparent Israeli hack

They say that an ounce of plastic was inserted into the units,
then I heard that they were made in Hungary, this got me
thinking, the President of Hungary is a big admirer and buddy
of Putin, so I thought that they had maybe devised the plot to
blame Israel, or just to destabilise, the Middle East.

Mike.

No. It is not ok. I do not spend much time in church these days…but what i learned stuck. If terrorists are in your country harming you…fine. Harm them back. But we supposedly have laws and tribunals for this. When there are no boundaries noone…absolutely no one will be safe.

This was a genius move by Israel! Genius. And while i hate to see collateral damage, I’m dead sure Hamas cares not one whit who they kill, including their own people. Karma’s a bitch.

We don't know all the details. We don't know how many innocent people had one of those pagers, or confirmation they were all members of a terrorist group. You say it's "genius", but for me it's a terrible signal. A lot of people carry electronics in their pocket, and who is to say a terrorist group won't follow suit?

Besides that, Israel is clearly going to war with Lebanon. This signals the war is about to begin.

Warfare has taken an evolutionary step into a new phase.

How long before all of us become vulnerable to this kind of attack? Now technology exists to arm devices ready to explode at the will of the whoever chooses, it will be used.
Every one of us is at risk at future times.

Well, as I said before ..... if you do not want a war, do not start a war.
And if Israel didn't want Hamas to attack them, maybe they should be decent to Palestinians. Works both ways. And that requirement goes for the Palestinians in the West Bank, whom Israel has been actively abusing likewise for decades.

Damn! Israel doesn't mess around! Perhaps Israel's neighbors should stop attacking them. Just a thought.
Perhaps Israel should think about what they do too. Not like they are innocent of deliberately hurting people who 'can't fight back'. We've just gotten so used to robotically droning on about poor Israel and not looking at what they did to lead up to retaliation.

It's a shame that Israel didn't get a bit more selective sooner.
What? Selective/surgical like 40,000+ dead in Gaza? I think that whole 'surgical strikes' is BS that they say so that the world will think they're trying to be careful about who they kill even as they actually don't care at all. Just like their 'most moral army' nonsense, even as their soldiers are caught raping Palestinians with sticks and weapons! Or children are killed by sniper fire! Likewise, they keep bombing refugee camps where they sent people 'to be safe' and then excuse themselves by telling us 'there was a terrorist in the middle of that camp'! Ha! I don't believe it.

Perhaps palestine shouldn't have attacked and kidnapped people's innocent children at a music Concert in the first place !

The Israeli secret service didn't just tamper with the deadly Hezbollah pagers -- they made them from scratch, having set up a complex web of shell companies across Europe, it was claimed today.

Initially it was suspected that Mossad had managed to intercept and plant tiny bombs in a shipment of the pagers headed for the Iranian-backed terror group in Lebanon after thousands of people were injured and dozens killed.

But now it appears that the Israelis set up front companies across Europe to manufacture the pagers themselves, embedding small amounts of PETN explosive inside, ready to be detonated by a coded message.

Israel has neither confirmed nor denied any role in the explosions, but 12 current and former defence and intelligence officials told the New York Times that the Israelis were behind it, describing the operation as 'complex and long'.
Israel 'did not tamper with pagers... but built them from scratch'

Exactly what has Israel done ?

As I understand it, Israel became an independent state on their land in 1948, and others in the region have been trying to take it back , ever since.

"Israel became a state on May 14, 1948, when the Provisional Government of Israel declared its independence. The declaration was signed by members of the National Council, which represented the Jewish people in Palestine and the Zionist movement globally. The declaration stated that the new state would be based on the principles of liberty, justice, and peace. "

Palestinian homes bulldozed, refusal to grant building permits, checkpoints that hold ordinary Palestinians up for hours and where they are abused, forced to sit in uncomfortable positions for hours in the sun, food and water deprivation, extra-judicial killings of Palestinians including children and young people who throw rocks, children imprisoned in military prisons for months with no legal recourse, prisoners who lose limbs due to too tight ligatures.

Beatings, random home invasions by the military who tear the place apart while the family is confined to one room or where they take over the house as a military position for hours or days, peaceful protestors who are shot with rubber bullets, water cannons and skunk water, farms and villages raided by armed Israeli settlers who aren't stopped by the IDF or sometimes supported actively by the IDF, Palestinian homes taken over by newcomer 'Israeli's'....a few of the things they have done. The IDF's main goal for all these abuses is simply to terrorize the Palestinian population and keep them subdued out of fear of reprisals.

I have watched numerous video interviews of ex-IDF combat soldiers who have made statements of remorse for their untenable actions and where they support the right of Palestinians to fight for their rights and decent lives. I believe that the group, Breaking the Silence even does walking tours of Hebron where they explain the unfairness and injustices that the Palestinians in that town must live under. Their declaration about 'liberty, justice and peace', has applied to Jewish Israeli's since they began but has not applied to the Palestinian people. Gaza is a horror story but all of the above must be acknowledged and is part of the reason that the Palestinian protestors took to the streets for months.

Can I suggest you look at my remarks to rgp, below? What I listed there are some of the reasons that October 7th tragedy took place. You can add to that, a report by the UN on 61 labouring Palestinian mothers being held up at check points so that they couldn't get to a hospital on the other side and who gave birth at the check point and 36 of whom, saw their newborns die due to the complications of birthing. https://www.un.org/unispal/document/auto-insert-183639/

Then there are the Israeli roads that go through Palestinian villages, where Palestinian people cannot use or cross those roads and who are cut off from their olive groves or farms on the other sides of them. Villages in valleys where Israeli settlements are on hilltops above them and the villages get the outflow of Israeli sewage. Settlers who have so violently abused them, that Palestinians have abandoned their homes and have been forced to retreat to Gaza (which explains the explosive growth of that tiny enclave/outdoor prison).

The treatment of Palestinians is egregious, long term and is something that our media never talks about. They confine themselves to commentary on Palestinian 'uprisings', suicide bombers (in the past) and Hamas rockets. All designed to paint a picture of a violent Arab group and which justifies Israel's regular and outsized attacks on Gaza over the past 14 or so years. But when you start looking behind that rhetoric, it's pretty easy to see that none of us could ever imagine having to live under that kind of oppression without making some effort to fight back.

The following link: https://ifamericansknew.org/stat/deaths.html. contains an interesting link that shows how many Israeli's vs. Palestinians have died as a result of the endless conflict since only 2000.

There might be something to some of those allegations but that organization has come under question over the years.

Setting that aside Hezbollah decided to throw in with Hamas at their own peril. This is nothing new for Hezbollah and they have interjecting decades going back to the 1980s when the bombed the US embassy killing 241. It's 40 years later and not much has changed including tactic which include killing hostages.

Hezbollah has been launching rockets into Israel alot over the last year especially after a commander was killed. But they have been doing this off and on since the 1980s and Israel probably has had more than enough. This has been an on going war with periods of 'peace'. Israel knows it's in a long game/war. Hence the planning and execution of the pager and radio plan.

Problem with Hezobollah Iran isn't just supplying or training them they're directing them in many cases. Many Lebanon probably want peace and if Hezbollah was out of the picture things might be different.

Regarding the Israeli/Palestinian war... It seems like Israel is completely fed up and at this point is in the process of obliterating Palestine. It's sad that this is what it has come to, but Palestinians don't want peace; they want to destroy Israel, so in response, Israel is destroying Palestine.
