Hi Everyone - I'm a YOCHI Instructor who is seriously melting in Dubai

It was on my list today to say "hi" to the world. And what better place to do it. I'm new to this forum and it is encouraging to read so many friendly posts by like minded positive people.

I just turned 60 three years ago ;) and I am in much better shape mentally and physically than I was at 59. Maybe even 58. But seriously now, I slogged it out in finance "growing up" and now teach YOCHI classes in exciting Dubai (and sometimes Toronto). Couldn't be happier.

Hi

Welcome, Raymond from Glinda in San Diego! I hope you'll tell us more about your YOCHI experience. It sounds very interesting . . . :)

:welcome: Raymond from the Western end of Tennessee.. never been anywhere abroad.. and I never heard of Yochi either. hope you will explain it to us who are unfamiliar with Yochi.. is it something like Yoga?
And you sound like a very exuberant person and full of life.. May you stay that way always..

I'm from West Tennessee also (Memphis) and I never heard of Yochi either. The thing I miss most, having moved to another state, is Pork Barbecue ribs and sandwiches. Leonard's was the place to get the best barbecue.

Is yochi disaster prediction training?
From the internet...Yo-Chi
.

What is Yo-Chi?

Yo-Chi is a mindful, barefoot fusion program where we celebrate the stability of yoga and the mobility of T’ai Chi in both standing and floor-based movements in 5-minute sections of choreography with special music and no equipment other than mats. From a fitness standpoint, we choose postures and progressions in each 5-minute section to challenge the entire body, giving a total-body workout by the time the class is over. We offer both 25- and 55-minute versions of the class so that almost every group fitness mind-body schedule can accommodate it.
How does an instructor prepare for Yo-Chi?
I’ve teamed with AFAA to launch the first ever online 5-hour teaching programming format of Yo-Chi. Instructors can take this course and then follow the online directions to provide Yo-Chi in their facilities with no licensing fees. We include everything they need to know to teach the class in the 5-hour training except the music, which Power Music® supplies for under $20. Like many of AFAA’s LQA online training programs, instructors have two options for watching the course. The first way is to find special dates on the calendar when the creator actually hosts the training (specific day and time). The second is to take the training hosted by AFAA online whenever it’s convenient for you in any time zone at all.

Hi Everyone. Thanks for the warm welcome. Sorry for the late reply. I could never find this thread on my intro until now. You all sound like... well... warm people. Some of you asked about YOCHI. It is fairly new. The best way to describe it is similar to Tai Chi except you get a good workout. After that you do a mental exercise (brain teaser of sorts), and then you plan your Purpose for the day. Your purpose is what two small thinks you would like to accomplish for yourself, your family, your friends, and then one small good deed for society (which could be as easy as holding the door open for others). Because there are no weights involved it is easy on my joints (a must for me), and you would be surprised at how your life changes when you accomplish your small goals for yourself and those dear to you.
The author is Scott Waddell (book sells on Amazon) and he too lives in Dubai which is where I met him. He explains that YOCHI is meant to be a catalyst to get you to do bigger and better things. A tiny example of how it worked for me is that one day I decided that my goal would be to connect with others on the Internet and sure enough, here I am! I also stay in touch with family members and friends much more.
I don't want to go on like I'm a salesman but you know how things are when you're excited about something. If you have any questions or want to learn more about this unique Dubai, feel free to ask. My goal will be to navigate to this thread again.
Keep well everyone and looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi all. I just looked up the Yo-Chi that Ken mentioned and didn't realize there was something like that. This is YOCHI and is not Zen-like in any way. It's for regular folks. Thanks for the input Ken.
