Hot where you are?

We`ve cooled off thankfully-only 97. But the next three days will be gnarly-104,106 and 102. Ugh. If you need me,you`ll find me in my daughter`s pool.....

Hot enough for me here, I would never live in Arizona. I like to go outside without having heat stroke, LOL. I heard some guy on the radio last night in Nevada saying it was so hot that the apples were baking on his apple tree. Sunny today :sunshine:, and my thermometer is reading 86 degrees, the house thermostat reads 79 degrees, we do not have central air...just a small air conditioner we put in the bedroom for summertime.

Since you asked, It's been hotter than a June bride in a feather bed for the last week and continuing.

High 80s to mid 90s. But we're OK thanks to a relatively new A/C unit. We'll live. I keep the temp @ 78º most days.

My nephew, in the Marine Corps., was moved from Ft. Leonard Wood, MO to NC almost a year ago. He had hoped for San Diego! Flying out to Vegas with his new wife in August, will come down to see us. He said he looks forward to the desert, it's been mid-90s temperature and mid-90s humidity where they are, he called it "miserable". I reminded him that the famous "dry-heat" here is not dry during Monsoon Season, upon us now. Our humidity here this morning was 37%! Couple that with 115 degrees, and it ain't comfortable anymore! My wife just checked: 5:50PM, temp. 111`, feels like 108`, R.H. 13%. Strange, back in the Midwest they always call out "heat index" higher than actual temp., here it works the other way. imp

I went to Phoenix once in July, for a wedding, to be held outside in the afternoon. I thought I would DIE before they said I do. I'm pretty familiar with heat here in NM (though I don't like it), but Phoenix was AWFUL. You open your door and the heat is like a wall. Really. A friend of mine there was a roofer -- can you imagine working on a roof, with hot tar, in that heat? I don't know how they can stand it. Of course, they started very early in the morning, like around 4:00 AM and quit around noon or so, but the heat is still intolerable at those times.

Got home and it was a mere 103 here.

The only place I've ever been that was hotter than Phoenix was Las Vegas in the summer.

Eighty six the high here today. Unusual for July and August, all but unheard of in June. Welcome to Mediterranean North. June has been very warm indeed, with ninety degrees the top temp so far. I thought I lived in a temperate coastal climate, hmmm.

We're going down to 15 C tonight and tomorrow there is a risk of showers with a high of around 19 or 20C, which is cool for us, but I love it. Last night I actually felt cold and had to put on my sweatpants. I hope the west coast is enjoying their tropical heat wave -- I don't miss it at all.
