House painting

The last four days things have been kind of hectic here but it ended today when my painting contractor left. What remained was a great exterior paint job. It is two earth shades, the darker for trim and lighter, the base. They did a wonderful job and neighbors have been admiring it. My house is stucco and the old paint was still good but I never liked the color. I am a happy camper now.

My house is only about 12 years old and like all stucco it had a few hairline cracks which they took care of before painting.

I'm in the process of having the interior of my house painted. With some trepidation the job is being done by a homeless excon who I had hired to do some yard work. It's hard to imagine a guy this messed up who doesn't have a drug problem but this guy doesn't and so far he's done a really good job repairing plaster cracks and painting.

I painted the exterior trim last Fall. I still have a couple of posts to do and got some touch up work to go. Just had a new roof put on and the roofers nicked up a few places. This will be my last painting. Will hire it out from now on.

Yes it does and they did a great job too. Several neighbors have admired it. My buddy and wife have been in Hawaii and when they got in yesterday they came over raving about the change of color and love it.

Sounds nice Jim, I heard that stucco homes are much cooler in the heat. We had a friend who lived in New Mexico that had an old stucco house. Any pics of the new paintjob you can post? What was the old color?

The old color was a light beige but it had some pink in it. I never liked it and more importantly my wife hated it. The new paint is much nicer and they used colors my wife selected (I wanted her to have it like she liked it). I will shoot a pic and send ya or post when the light is right.
