How are you today?

I am so frustrated. I sent my son a box of Hickory Farm ($90) for Thanksgiving. They shipped it FEDEX. They sent a picture of it sitting in the hallway next to the mailboxes - NOT on his doorstep. My son never received the package.

I reached out to FEDEX and all they said was "it was delivered" ... I reached out to Hickory Farms and they said at first they would resend and require a signature, then they wrote back and said - "OH, well FEDEX says they delivered it so, nothing we can do" .....

So, I'll never buy from Hickory Farms again. :(

Update:

I am pleased to say, after a great deal of back and forth and a bad review at the BBB ---- Hickory Farms has stepped up and sent a replacement package! They agreed that throwing the box in a hallway near the mailboxes does not constitute a confirmed delivery. At the very least, they should put it on his doorstep!

So, hopefully my son will get his "Season's Eatings Hearty Party Gift Box" ;) meant for Thanksgiving - but before Christmas works too!

it's disgusting that it took all that for them to do the right thing.

In March of 2024 I hurt my right arm lifting something incorrectly. It would feel better but never totally right. Today I decided to see a physio who used IFT (Interferential Therapy) instead of TENS and followed up with a light laser treatment. Felt wonderful. She also did some stretching because she thinks it’s a pinched nerve. It feels much better tonight. Not totally fixed, but improved.
That is happy news. :)

Good morning. It's not as balmy as yesterday morning, but it's still warm-ish at 39. If we can believe the weathernerds, it'll be a sunny day.

It's laundry day, and I'm still trying to psych myself into making Spritz. I'll let you know how it goes...

I don't think I'm gonna mess around with putting up any Christmas decorations because...it's too much trouble to take them down again! Howzat for an excuse?
See, this is why I leave my trees decorated and covered in plastic, waiting to be uncovered and placed. Well, and we add candy canes, because... candy.

Edit: #$%@!!!! typo!

It's light out now. The sun is shining, but it's still very cold. We're supposed to have a high temp today around 60F. I'm here for it.

I've decided that I'm fine.

DD is doing stuff. When she's done, we're going Aldi-ing and Publix-ing. I have a list as long as my arm because I've used up stuff baking cookies. Feeling like comfort food today...like tuna casserole, but I'm the only one who likes it. DSIL doesn't like peas, DGD doesn't like tuna. Tough. I like both, and I'm gonna make it anyway. Let 'em eat cake.

I'm ready to lick my weight in wildcats🐅 this morning. The sun is shining, and it's going to be a pleasant and warm day. Gotta soak it up today because starting tomorrow, we're gonna be in a deep freeze until midweek.

Last night DD and I just rode around and admired Christmas lights. Funny thing is that neighborhoods where there have been pretty displays in the past had almost nothing. What's up with that? I mean, geez, there I was out after dark just to look at their lights and there were very few! Grinches:mad: The ones that we saw, though, were spectacular.

I was gonna make tuna casserole for supper but didn't get around to it. Maybe today. Or not.

Nothing in particular on the agenda today. At least I don't have to go out in public. There are people out there!20251213_085905 (1).jpg

Doing ok here today. Got some more sleep. Just not able to use my cpap right now. It bothers my sinuses too much. If I can get them to settle down then maybe I can get back to it.

Having some coffee before work. Thinking about one of those natural energy drinks they have at the little coffee shop inside our facility. I feel like I need a boost today.

Pictures from my daily morning hike with Rex and Heidi before it gets too warm (80+ degrees this afternoon.) I adopted
Rex 3 months ago at 12 months and 60 pounds, while I had Heidi already since 2021. -- In a few weeks, I'll be 90 y/o.

Our usual hiking area.......................................................................................this terrain is more challenging.

I always loved nature, rattle snakes excluded but they hibernate right now.

The green orange trees are about to be replaced by a housing development.

Your dogs are beautiful. ❤️

Tired! It took 2.5 hours to defrost my upright freezer. Then my back hurt.

I only do this a couple of times a year. Inebriated sailors have nothing on the words I was thinking. Basically twice a year for 25 years. 50 times too many. It’s a small commercial freezer so does what it’s supposed to do well.

Missed out on my morning walk because of this ordeal. Grumble, grumble. First world problems.

I was having a decent day. For dinner, I made chocolate pudding cake and baked spaghetti with chicken sausages. Everything was well until I went into the kitchen about an hour ago and spotted a mouse! 😲😱

I looked everywhere for the little phucker and, of course, couldn't find it. I've set traps, and now we'll see. 🙄

Except for the narrative below, I'm fine.

Hmph. Y'all think a mouse is a problem? Cold weather a problem? No sleep a problem?

I got up so mad this morning that I was chewing nails! Why? Because DD threw my potato chips away. Yup. Not only threw them away but stood over the trash can while I watched and dumped them from the sack into the trash! Then I woke up. She's off the hook :ROFLMAO:

Next, I logged in to my online banking. System let me in and then told me I don't have "permission" to view my accounts. Arg! There's no customer service available on Sunday, of course. The only other thing I could do was to send a message to the contact center, and I'm hoping it's a problem on their end. I was able to get into my accounts over the phone and check balances...my money is all still there. Whew.

Those potato chips...it's gonna take all day to forgive DD:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

@packleader, I had a moment of sadness seeing your photos with only two dogs. Saying goodby to furry family members is so difficult. Though I only cyber knew/know your dogs, your photos and descriptions gave me a sense of their personalities, so I soon developed an affection for them.

Thank you, PL, for sharing enough of your dogs' adventures that we can feel we're part of your pack.

I got all involved while trying to decide what Christmas decorations to put up. Then I decided not to decide and asked DGD to come look at what I have and ask her to choose what she wants. All of it. Yay. If there'd been anything left over, it was going to go to Goodwill. I'd have hated to do that because most of it came from my Best Aunt who died a few years ago and from my mother. I even found ornaments that my mother got from the Smithsonian and from the Museum of Modern Art. Made of list of the things and where they came from to tuck in so that she'll know how they came about.

I emptied a very big tote, cleaned it out and put a whole bunch of stuff in it that I've been trying to find a place to store. Now I have to find a smaller tote to put DGD's someday-Christmas decorations in.
