How do you feel about men, over 60, with long hair?

Everytime I see an old guy with long hair I imagine a guy trying way too hard to still be cool. and it ain't working.

I used to be one of the guys who tried to be cool.
But when so many women told me how hot I was,

I'll have to disagree with that. If you shaved your head, you'd have to keep it shaved. If you let it grow long, you can go weeks, months (or years) without ever spending time getting it cut.

I think a shaved head is way better than a "comb over".

I have not cut my hair since 2019, so its about 19 inches long now. I wear it tied back in a tail. I have worn a beard since about age 25 and I am now 75, so about 50 years with a beard. It is about 3 inches long, but I do shave my neck below my jaw line because the stubble rubs on my shirt collars and it is irritating. My wife has no problem with my hair or my beard. JimB.

I don't care how people choose to wear their hair. I do like long hair on men but prefer how it looks when it's not too long. They don't have to be movie stars or models. Those guys would look good with a cat on their heads. They can be young or old. It just needs to be clean and well groomed. I also like facial hair. My husband had a mustache and goatee.

The hair works ... the beard needs a little help.

The hair is fine and the beard is well groomed.

Man bun? No ... just ... no, lol.

To each his own but I've always kept my hair short.

Growing up my parents kept my hair short, went in the Army at 17 1/2 and they pretty much demanded that I keep it short and I continued with short hair after getting out of the military.

I get a haircut every four weeks (just got one yesterday afternoon) and get it cut back to what you'd call a longish 'burr' / 'buzz cut' kinda like the below pic and then four weeks later I do it again.......works for me.

I have a dear friend, male, over 60, with long hair. He's a very handsome man and over the years I have seen him
with a variety of hair lengths. (Even shaved his head once!) Personally, no matter how clean and groomed, I think it
makes him look older when his hair is long.

I love long hair on men. Hubby went grey shortly after daughter was born so about 31. He gave up his regular cut monthly and made me melt. After 2018, he was completely white haired, beard and eyebrows, phew! Back length then shoulder length until he died

Son had shoulder length hair, close to pumpkin colour, he died at 26 with his hair going into Auburn shade. Below is hubby's most up-to-date avatar. He created it on our last wedding anniversary in 2021.

People have all kinds of reasons for wearing their hair the way they do. I might not know the reasons, but I respect them.

As a woman, I've had people suggest that I wear my hair a different way. They have no idea what they're talking about, because it isn't their hair or their life.

Thank you! I can't believe that in less than 2 months, it will already be a year. 30 April for hubby and 21 January 2017 for SonShine, it's been 6 long years. It was out the blue for both of them. Son had been the first Libra born in so many generations. I take it one day at a time but emotionally I still feel drained...

The beard that I grew was for reasons of vanity, it masked a mole on my chin. When the
whiskers made me look like Santa, the beard came off, I preferred to mole. Vain? Who me?

Decided during the pandemic that if I couldn't get a haircut, I'd just let it grow.

Had some trims since then, but it is very long now (9 3/4 inch) and wear it in a ponytail when out.
Around the house, it's more like Leon Russell, it just hangs out.
Never had long hair growing up or anytime as an adult before.
Started turning grey around 18 and was mostly gray since my 30's.

I look at the picture on my retired military ID and wonder who that guy is with the 'Buzz' cut?

About the same way I feel about men with short hair. I just like women better. This one I married.



From about a month before we tied the knot. She never much cared for long hair on guys but that wasn’t a deal breaker.



Within a few years I got tired of having long hair and decided I liked feeling some air on my scalp. About 35 years later in Hawaii.
