I have enjoyed this forum very much, and I have learned many things on this forum. The friendship I have made are priceless, and I plan on staying until "they" run me off.
But I don't understand how it exists. Everything has a cost, but their is no charge to us. How is the forum paid for? The internet can't free. So how does it work? :magnify:

There is advertising on the board. Most people probably have it turned off - look at your personal settings (at the bottom.)
 

The story I heard was that Matrix is actually Satoshi Nakamoto, the supposed founder of the cryptocurrency Bitcoin.

As he is rumored to have kept 1 million bitcoins from the original mining, that would mean he is worth (at today's prices) $665 million.

It's nice that he remembers the "little people", isn't it? ;)
 
I heard the V5 is bad. Really bad. Read about it at another board I frequent.

Anyway...I guess those that can afford it can offer to contribute? And those that can't....can contribute with good topics, bringing friends, and telling him now and then how much he is appreciated.

Or, like another board I know of, someone here can donate for someone here that is shy of funds.

Many thanks for thinking of the cost. Fortunately it doesn't cost much to run this forum, the advertising revenue pretty much covers it. I have rented a solid server for my other web projects, it's fast enough to host a few more sites like this forum without additional cost.

I also do everything on my own, programming, administration, and even design.

Members don't see any ads even you don't turn it off after the last accident, not worth it.

No, no donations, ever!

So Sorry ... I am bad about not noticing when something is very old --- but I did notice this and yet, just had to add my 2 cents :ROFLMAO:

I had wondered if Matrix took donations.

I don't know what's going on, but I keep seeing writing that looks like "你的头像很可爱。你住在德克萨斯州吗" ... not JUST in this thread.....

Please forgive me for "necro posting" ;)

I actually live in California at the moment. I did live in Texas back in 1988, in Leander (near Austin). :)
