How holy are we becoming, (well I'm okay obviously), but,....?

During this pandemic, the ensuing lockdown/lockdowns, we've all had an opportunity to become better people, or one could say, "more holy", (that's holy, not holey, or wholely/wholly!).

Now I'm alright obviously, I become a better person everyday whether I try or not, or like it or not! :)

However, not everyone can be so fortunate, so do you believe you're becoming more holy, (define holy as you will?)?

Over to you, (the grand master says have as much fun as possible). :)

No takers yet,......,mmmm, let me see what I can do to change that! :)

Everyone is likely to be living a chaste life, or sharing their lives with someone they've known for over nine months.

In that sense at least we can all polish our halo's can't we, though we may still slip up in other aspects of our lives, (not me obviously, but I've made it clear I'm the "example that proves the rule" - I think!).

I think it was Nietzsche who said that what didn't destroy you made you stronger. Discounting "holiness" a bit, I think in my opinion that the pandemic and other events of the past year have made good people better, and questionable people worse...

Unfortunately, In my opinion it has shown some true colors of some that maybe I would not have seen......
Seems like we lost civility and respect for others opinions and choices.

it changed the definitions of who is good and who is bad for some ....
for example........ if a person asks questions or does not follow the crowd they are now deemed crazy or a troublemaker or something else......... the person did not change.......... just how another person may view them.

Some people certainly have deemed themselves as "holy" or some how better.

I don't believe that one has to be 'holy' to be a good person. Actually, the most charitable, ethical, and kindest people I know are just good on their own. Just for the sake of being good. They are not religious.

“No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.” Buddha

do you believe you're becoming more holy
Nada

Just thankful....pandemic or not

I cannot cease giving thanks

That's not like me
Usually pretty stoic or sarcastic

But it wells from within
A veritable fountain

It's called letting God in
Never done it before

This unholy being has been changed
Not of my own, that's for sure

Sorry

No preaching

.....just relating

Beautifully stated. ❤️

I don't understand what is meant by "holy" in this context. If you're trapped in your home because of a pandemic, how does that make you
holy? Bored, maybe. Angry, upset, frustrated. Or creative, rested, philosophical. You might be more thoughtful than you were before, because you have more time to think.

But holy? Holy non sequitur! 😄

Saint Fuzzybuddy. Ya know, it has a ring to it. Unfortunately, I'm just as unholy as I was yesterday.
Saint Fuzzybuddy - finder of that lost sock. ;)

Pray to Saint Fuzzybuddy and send a dollar to your favorite charity and that lost sock will magically reappear from wherever lost socks go, never to be lost again - until the next time you do your laundry. But never fear, Saint Fuzzybuddy is never too far to help find that lost sock again.

I haven't become better or worse or anything else outside of or in-between.
Always been steadfast in the way I am.
Nothing has changed.
There is one thing changing for all of us, and its not the most comforting thought,...., our lives aren't getting any longer are they, (foolish, simplistic statement though that is, and true from the day we were born of course).
Professor do da from Bristol, (my favourite professor of risk management, and an advisor to our UK government on the pandemic, called Phillip Thomas), talks about the negative side of keeping people alive when there is no quality of life, and they can't see their families, such as those isolated and alone in many care homes.
If we do think a bit more about the life ahead of us getting shorter by the day, and our quality of life is affected, we might just choose to think we'll live that life well, or even a bit better than we've managed previously, "hence get a bit more holy in the eyes of some"(?). :)

Seems a natural thought
Of late, I get impatient with my growing inabilities

I don't think I'd like to live around me when I get feeble
A present, I can do what I did 20-30 years ago
It just takes longer

Oh, oh.....I made a poster on this a couple decades ago;
