You know after 2 days one after the other of driving, and in and out of the car walking around etc. my back is breaking.. seriously hurting , and it will be even worse in the morning..it just seizes up during the night if I've been driving a lot... and worse I have to go to the Doctors surgery ( office ) tomorrow morning....I hope I can ease my back enough to get there...

It's been lovely having this beautiful weather this last few days ..but all this week has been really busy.. what with dealing with the gardeners, the handyman , the driving a couple of hundred miles..( not that I don't like it )... dealing with the lawyers, paying crippling fees, ... I will be so pleased to get back from the surgery tomorrow, and just hunker down in the house and not go out for a few days...

Holly, my wife had 2 lower back surgeries 2 years ago. She loves the heated seat in Turbos
+ the heated Rocker / Recliner with Vibrations for her lower back. I have a Tilter for mine.
My spine likes to stretch out nearly upside down on it. Sort of like the Monkey Bars of youth.

yes I've had 2 surgeries on my lower back as well.. I hated those heated rockers they seemed to vibrate right on my back and really hurt..I spent fortunes on things like that in the early day looking for pain relief.. I've had cortisone injections and they worked until they didn't any more

I just use heat now on mine when it gets bad that seems to work better than most..

@Murrmurr has had serious back injuries in his life, poor guy really bad.. and like you he also finds relief in hanging upside down....

As I sometimes do, I fell asleep last night before I could post about what I did yesterday. I accomplished a couple of important things:
~ Refilled two of my pill cases
~With my son's help… gave Deja her mani-pawdi. It was overdue and I was so tired of being punctured when she jumped on me. 😖

This morning, before my son left for work, he brought in Deja's Chewy order that he left in the car because it was pouring when he got home. It was about 3:45 a.m. and I got busy unpacking and checking the cat food containers (a couple of times in the past I found swollen containers). I had put in a double order so I could get the $30 gift card, so I had 72 pieces to check. The canned food she loves was out of stock, so I got the next best thing. I also had to rotate stock and make room for that stuff.

I almost talked myself out of doing laundry, especially when acid reflux started making me feel bad. I get chest pain and a headache at the same time. Usually I have to drink something carbonated so I can belch and that takes care of it. But it dissipated fairly quickly before I could move to get up and get a drink. I checked the weather report and we have a wind advisory for tomorrow (up to 60 mph). I decided it best to get it done today. By 10:30 I felt good enough to sort clothes and by 11 went downstairs to do a double load. Love that no one else was down there.

I was "feenin" for ice cream so after taking a short rest, I walked to the convenience store to get a pint. Don't usually get chocolate, but that's all they I had. I must say the Welsh Farms was pretty good. I started drying the clothes after enjoying my ice cream. Most of the laundry was stuff that goes on hangers, so I put all of those away. What little is in the basket, I'll take care of tomorrow.

Didn't sleep well after spending the Wednesday evening considering making a dawn trip to the Sierra to ski fresh cold snow as a storm waned. But no, was not enough new depth to make me want to pull the trigger for a 3 hour drive and then the challenge of not being cold being outside several hours during dim, light to moderate snow showers at breezy 24F temps. More clearly, I hate the long drives, especially after a day of strenuous skiing, and often will pull over somewhere and nap awhile.

But...next week are 2 larger storms and due to a confusing web page, a few weeks ago had mistakenly reserved a $60 motel reservation for Saturday night March 15 in Carson City Nevada (just east of Lake Tahoe) instead of February 15 I intended, that is right before the largest storm. So that works conveniently as I can get a day in bump skiing and then spend the storm day doing snow atop river boulders photography, and then hopefully then the day after the main storm, a fresh snow day I can do some GoPro powder skiing videos using 2 forward and reverse helmet mounted cameras.

Last few days have spent time creating fancy colorful custom ski resort topographic maps using Photoshop and caltopo dot com. Map today was 3200 by 3000 pixels at 200 ppi so 16 inches by 15 inches and another yesterday 25 inches by 20 inches. Print them out for just a few bucks at a nearby Fed Ex Office. Small crop from one map:

Walmart used to own Asda. I had a lodger from the US several years ago and he wouldn't go to the local Asda for that reason. I wouldn't go there because I kept running into my clients if I did!
Yes but it wasn't Walmart it remained unchanged as Asda owned for a very short time by Walmart... Asda remained the same as it always had, it never morphed into Walmart

But it's quite telling that Walmart bought Asda, because being a low budget supermarkets.. perhaps they saw an opportunity to change the customer base into a pyjama wearing freak show...:ROFLMAO:

Good morning folkies...

Another Glorious Sunny Blue skied morning... this morning 🌞 🌞 🌞 It's 9.25am and 53 deg.... forecast for 61 F

Got to go to the doctors this morning...nursing my poorly back at the moment... . it's only going to be a locum so I'm only expecting tea & sympathy at best.. but I must try and get there because cancelling would mean weeks of waiting for another appt..

Yes Virginia, there is a 330am on the clock!!!!!!!!!! why I am up
this time of morning is crazy, guess can blame it on leg cramps
and rash....along with achy joints....ah well....Morning all graylings, hope you have a decent day....it is 41deg now up
to mid 50;s later on...no precip I think.....

Good morning. It's gonna be a stellar weather day here so today for sure (after a 33F start!) I'm gonna haul my bony self out to the garden and plant dianthus and scatter zinnia and cosmos seeds.

@hearlady...an experienced and trusted adviser? Okay. All I need is someone with experience to advise me about...stuff.

@hollydolly would it help your back to put a little pillow between the small of your back and the back of whatever seat you're on? Just a thought. Next car you buy...heated seats and lumbar support! I hope you get more than tea and sympathy from the doc today.

@squatting dog Thinking positive thoughts for you and your wife.

@Furryanimal Doncha just hate when your hair grows so fast?

@hawkdon 3:30am isn't getting-up time. At least next week when we'll be on DST, that will translate to 4:30am.

Okay then. It's time to act on my good intentions. Time's a-wasting, and we know that at my (advanced) age there's not a second to spare.

Glad your acid reflux went away quickly. That can be a bear.
That's cute: "mani-pawdi." 🐈‍⬛🤗

I feel just fine at Walmart. Fit right in with silk pull on pants and tunic aka salwar suit.
