How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

I was hoping for another sunny day but, we had rain earlier and it's a bit chilly now, in fact, just put the heating on.

Skipped the flea market this morning but, made it to the pub. The only alcohol I ever drink is occasionally wine but, the pub serves quite a few non-alcoholic cocktails - my favourite is the Strawberry Mocktail Spritzer - so, no hangovers :) Two of the guys were celebrating their 80th birthdays and one of them used to be in a band so, his old band mates turned up and they played some of their songs. They were a local band so, not famous but, really good. It was certainly a great way to spend a couple of hours on a dreary Sunday.

Many moons ago, we would have been going out in the evening to celebrate occasions but these days, it's afternoons so everyone can go home and put their feet up afterwards :ROFLMAO:

Hope everyone had a smashing Sunday (y)

@Eupher Hate yard work? Heretic! I don't like the part about pulling weeds or cleaning up in the spring before planting or the part where my back aches. Otherwise...it gets me out in the sunshine and fresh air, and I like to play in the dirt, then sit back and admire my efforts.

I got lots and lots of onerous little jobbies done in the garden this morning and only just came in. It's time to cool off, and I was hungry.

It's supposed to rain tomorrow so DD and I will do a little Walmarting in the morning. I'm almost out of chocolate.

@Trish, you can tell which places cater to old folks. They're the ones that advertise "Early Bird Specials."

@hollydolly Did your DD visit this week? I thought you mentioned something about her visiting but don't remember if she already did or is going to.

Nap time 🛌

Last week I bragged about being a procrastinator. I didn’t polish and spray my winter boots and it snowed the next day.

Yesterday, I kicked myself in the butt and did those boots. They’re all cleaned up and tucked away.

It’s snowing today and my runners are wet. I don’t care; those boots are staying stored away.

@Georgiagranny I haven't heard of Early Bird Specials but, it's exactly right! :ROFLMAO:

I was supposed to start learning Cubase today. It's a digital music production program that my son has been pushing me to learn. I told him since he wants me to do it, he can pay for it. 🤑 I've worked with digital music programs before (Logic and Garage Band), but prefer to play and compose on my instrument. However, if my son ever does move out (he's mentioned leaving the state), Cubase will allow us to still work on projects together and send them to each other.
We have a couple of questions about purchasing and licensing, but have to wait until tomorrow for answers, so we can't do that today.

It's been a pretty relaxed day. I cleaned up the kitchen and made sure all of Deja's bowls are washed. I just have to sort and bag laundry then I'll relax, watch TV and play games on my phone. I don't even have to cook today. I'm sure to nap at some point, especially after I eat. 😴

I sorry Holly, I meant to be social and just humorous.

Saw the women's SuperG from the course and watched the men's race on tv. It was warm, moist, and cloudy; far from ideal.

It got darker as the morning wore on. Lindsey Vonn(USA) was on course when this pic was taken, it is so far away she was a little speck that I can't even find or more likely wasn't even in the frames. She finished 2nd.

Videos of ski racers training on the DH course 2 weeks ago.

Time to chill, no racing tomorrow. 7 ski days in a row, including 2 powder days, has me worn out! Thankfully today's races went off at 11am and 1230 pm so there weren't any(maybe fewer?) drunk skiers like yesterday afternoon.

My early walk at 7am ,temp was 25 as I walked around the building one time before breakfast
This morning at 10am Marcia will be picking up me & neighbor Bill to go to our church service at 10:30. Afterwards I've invited her & hubby, Dave for brunch at noon, Bill will join us. I don;t see Dave as often as I do Marcia will be a great chance to catch up with him They are my 'Buffalo family' my brother& sister live far away,John in Greenwich, CT, Mary 'across the pond' outside of London, England
The rest of my day read local paper, may go for afternoon walk
an update, Dave couldn't come for brunch because he's not feeling well. In his place was one of their sons, Alexei, it was great to see him. We use to go to the movies together before Covid changed everything. He is now a special ed teacher at a public school here, he teaches 5th grade
I told Marcia I hope Dave feels better,I did take an afternoon walk, still chilly outside temp in 30's

Left: For my grandson's 6th birthday, his parents took him in Los Angeles to the funniest of all experiences, namely the "slime place" Sloomoo Institute - The World's #1 Slime Experience & Shop Right and Center: The following day, they went to Knott's Berry Farm www.knotts.com where at the children's "Camp Snoopy" he pretended to be the Red Baron. The birthday party is coming up next.

At 93 degrees outside, we have an early taste of summer.

I never had an inkling of Covid probably because of my 9 Covid shots between 1/27/2021 and 1/7/2025.

Please stay away from that lady!
I do my best, really!!!!

This time, there was a wayward ball that accidentally got onto the skating floor. It was slowly rolling towards the woman, who was on the other side of the rink from me. Instead of picking up the ball, she kicked it (hard) out of her way. I was far enough away from her (by the wall) that I saw it coming and was able to avoid it....then the ball hit the wall and bounced right out in front of me. It happened too fast for me to react.

I'm fine! I was more angry that hurt!
