How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Last two days have sort of seemed the real start of spring — here in the mountains, an hour north of the U.S, border, 1550 fit elevation, snow now mostly gone, barely below freezing point at night. Yesterday was spent getting some machinery adjusted, fueled up, and started after 4.5 months. Next, rounding up lopped branches off of trees & shrubs, plus junk-wood bits leftover from tearing down the old house-deck surface & replacing same—and then building a scrap pile and tending the fire for three hours (then watching it for more). Next, arranging outdoor furniture, and helping to prepare dinner for ourselves and two guests.

Today started off we me doing the pile of dishes left over from last evening, then devoting myself to necessary paper work that hadn't been tended to. After lunch, getting another part of our outdoor water system working well, and then building soil for the greenhouse. But it's only 4:40 right now.

Finished processing three subjects I shot Thursday at a small serpentine wildflower reserve 25 miles north with one result especially nice. So love the focus stack blending results I'm getting now with the a6700.

Drove up 55 miles today mid day Saturday to San Francisco south Mission area then hung out along the bay shore and port areas near Oracle Arena where the SF Warriors play. That upscale area has lots of modern buildings including the SF Giants baseball park and the huge UCSF Mission Bay Campus medical schools plus much nurse schooling and medical corps. Given ski season, had not been in The City for a few months, sunny with 65F temp, little breeze. They had a lively young outdoor band with maybe ten members and lots of jumping up dancing gals while playing some new genre music.

Monday mid day will drive north to a familiar ecological volcanic plateau reserve for a couple days road trip of spring wildflower photography. So tomorrow Sunday will be dealing with much gear and logistics. An exciting adventure requiring much hiking off trails I'm looking forward to. Some years is utterly mind boggling. Downsized for web from April 2018:

My youngest "baby" daughter is 40 today! My SIL planned a surprise party for this evening so we're looking forward to that.
I was 27 when I had her. She was 38 when she had her youngest. I think the maturity makes her a better mother and they are in great shape so I think she has more energy than I did. That said, I'm glad I had mine younger.
Happy Birthday to your daughter. 🍰✨

My biggest accomplishments today were finding the case of Microban I've been looking for for two days and finally making up my mind what to wear tomorrow. I also had to look for the blazer I'm wearing tomorrow. Found it "hidden" in the space bag of clothes to be dry clean (I use the Dryel system). I cleaned the blazer but will have to iron it tomorrow when my son sets up the ironing board.

We've been away for a few days in the campervan. Nothing 'exotic', just the chance to find out if everything is OK and what we forgot to pack.
Well, the van goes and stops OK, all the appliances work, but I'm having some problems with the 12 Volt electrics. I'll have a look at that today.

Yesterday we went to the theatre to see 'The Grand Duke' at the Aberdeen Performing Arts Centre. This was Gilbert and Sullivan's last collaboration and was their only financial failure. Following this, the couple had an acrimonious falling out, and never spoke to each other again.
The play is not often performed, but has been resurrected a few times. As to yesterdays' show, the acting was great, the singing excellent and was accompanied by a sizeable orchestra. However, unlike other G and S light comic operas, this was a bit too 'heavyweight' and the plot convoluted. It dragged on and only received a smattering of unenthusiastic applause.

Well, you can't win them all. We're looking forward to 'Anything goes' in May. We saw it some years ago at the Crucible theatre in Sheffield.
Then, it was 'In the round'. It will be interesting to see it on stage.

I'm telling you this amitriptyline is some drug. I saw on reddit that people use it to get high at high doses. The 10mg pill is the size of a bird seed. So there is no cutting it.

Drowsy...after one pill at 10 for bedtime all the way till 9am, I felt sleepy. It helps with pain, but I can't use it if I am so drowsy all the time.

Another dilemma to add to the list. :)
.
Amitriptyline old drug. One of the originals. Has been n replaced by much much better meds. Think you should ask for another sooner rather than later. Sorry. With tablet can't say much more except Big Mistake putting you on this outdated med.

Yesterday's rain total was....(drum roll, please).....4.5 inches!!! That's on top of what we already had, with more coming today. @Georgiagranny don't forget about the webbed toes!!!

Happily, there is an end in sight. Some time today ("when" varies according to the source), the rain will stop, and the storms will be over!

But Ma Nature isn't done yet! Tonight, the temperature is going to dip below freezing, maybe tomorrow night, too. 🙄

On early morning walk at 7am temp was 35 as I walked around building before breakfast
My neighbor, Bill&I will be taking an Uber to church because our friend, Marcia isn;t feeling well
The rest of my day talk to my brother, John as I usually do on Sun,read local paper, hope to take afternoon stroll before the rain comes

@hawkdon Yanno that old saying about nothing good happening after midnight? Yeah. Waking up at 3am is one of those things.

@OneEyedDiva Glad you found your case of Microban. How do you lose a whole case?

@Trila OMG! that's a lotta rain. If the weathernerds aren't lying again, some parts of the metro area here are going to get between 4-8" by early tomorrow evening. Our neighborhood is on the low 4" side. Like 4" is "low"? We also have a tornado watch. Again.

It was 70F earlier this morning, but the temp is already dropping. We're not supposed to get to 70 again until maybe the end of the week.

@hollydolly My back is much better this morning...it just wanted a rest, thank all that is holy!

@Who_so_ever Sorry you're feeling puny today, but online church is fine if you can't get there in person.

I was out again at the butt crack of dawn finishing up stuff here and there in the garden and cleaning up after making a mess over the past few days. I needed to get it all neatened up before the rain starts and get tools cleaned and things put away.

Have I mentioned that I purely love my new potting bench? DSIL put the trim pieces on yesterday, and I got all my pots and small hand tools artfully arranged...it even has three hooks on either side for hanging the trowel, claw, other assorted tools. It. Is. So. Cute! I wanna go outside and admire it, but it's raining.

I feel like I need to see pictures of all of your accomplishments~ :)

A month ago I agreed to drive an acquaintance to an appointment way south of town tomorrow during rush hour. I was dreading it and the weather looks terrible. I just got word that he found another ride. My confidence has taken a hit because of the cost of car repairs and new vehicles.

Well today I just popped down to the riverside to have a little walk and try and free up my back... it's only a 10 minute drive...

.. I didn't stay long, just a 1/2 hour walk along the towpath, and then I came back and because it was so hot in the garden... I decided to cut back all the Ivy which meant getting up a 6 foot ladder..... and to top and side the Bay Leaf Shrub which was over 8 feet tall..so I've cut it down to just below 6 feet.. .

Then I cleared all the pots in front of the fences that are being replaced.. and got the drill out to undo the screws and removed all the hanging pots from the fences as well..in readiness for the new panels which are being delivered tomorrow morning at stupid o'clock... and my gardener is coming on Wednesday to fit them for me....but tbh.. my back was really, really hurting still.. so I had to do everything very slowly and carefully...
