Dealing with a lot of gut cramping and other symptoms on Mounjaro, but not bad enough to complain. I know others here are coping with far more joint pain, headaches, etc. than I have to deal with. So far my symptoms aren't terrible and nothing unexpected has come up.

But it sure can be annoying.

Good morning to all!

I had a great time at the roller rink yesterday. I haven't been skating for 3 weeks, and 5 weeks since I was at that rink. It was good to catch up with my friend and her autistic son (he skates better than I do!

) So, I just skated, and skated, and skated yesterday.....for about 5 hours, with just a few breaks! Today will probably be a day of recovery, not doing much of anything. 😴

Good morning, SFers! A beautiful day here again today. 77°F /25°C for a high.

TGS did come yesterday morning, we had a great day with him until dropping him off at 8 pm. He was painting the concrete on the side of my house (with water), then moved to watering the rose bushes.

After a time, he shed his shorts and handed them to me. Complained they were wet.

Well, it wasn't long before the shirt came off, as well. His diaper caught plenty of drips, too!

Little children do love water play!

I've got the laundry in the dryer... got the KFC style chicken just finished baking in the Airfryer.. and I've been out in the garden drilling screws into one of the fence posts to install metal brackets for a hanging basket...

Just started to rain as I finished.. first rain in weeks... so I couldn't do the sealant on the bird bath where it has a slight crack.. it'll have to wait for another day

Today our older grandchildren will be with us for several hours. We're so fortunate that most weekends we see all our grands and at least two of our three children.

Needless to say, nothing got counted in yesterday, and probably the same for today because we've found more important things do do. At times like this I'm reminded of the poem that ends this way:

The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
But children grow up as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

So for lunch I had a toasted whole grain bagel with a slice of sharp cheddar, some uncured bacon, and jalapeno slices cooked with the pork. Add some red grapes, chewing the seeds as you are supposed to.

While some people are probably feeling sympathy rumbles just thinking about this, it seems to have settled my innards right down.

Balancing out glucose metabolism, losing weight, while controlling symptoms along the way. I didn't mention increasing activity, but that goes without saying.
Start out slow if you are not used to hot peppers. Oriental or hispanic stores are a good source past the 3-4 options a supermaket often carries.
Grilled or sauteed with onions peppers keep for a couple of days in the fridge. Easy add on to an omlette or with mushrooms to top chicken. I could sell Cowboy Candy.

Got a decent meal on the table today!
Ham loaf, scalloped potatoes & asparagus.

We had a nice surprise yesterday,,our son & 2 of his daughters stopped in for a chat.
Youngest daughter had her car wrecked,, he found one near us to buy.
Came up from Lancaster to get it.
I hope your granddaughter wasn't in the car when it was damaged...

I'm annoyed with myself.. I fell asleep sitting on the sofa just after 5pm... and I was irritated to see it was 7pm when I woke up with a blinding headache , but worse was to come..it wasn't 7, it was 8pm... 3 hours sleep !!OMG... I'll never sleep tonight, and I have an appointment in town in the morning...😩

Pepper, my friend, don't ever feel bad or scold yourself about worrying over your loved ones. Yesterday my daughter was driving DGS to school and stopped well back from a red light because there were train tracks ahead. DGS sat directly behind her.

A car ran the red light, hit a truck, caromed off the truck, slammed into her, then hit the car behind her. What would have been a tragedy 25 years ago when cars were less safely built, was not, thank heavens. But it serves a reminder that we can't always see what will unfold 30 seconds from now, sometimes not even 5 seconds.

The driver behind her had a dashcam that showed her and his car getting hit. She sent me the video, but it seems I can't upload it here because it's an mp4. Trust me, it's unnerving to watch when it's your family in the car.

Worrying over the well-being of our loved ones is the small price we pay for having them in our lives. ❤️

Nobody involved in the accident was hurt - a miracle - and all are fully insured. DD's car is fixable, she's already gotten a rental, and she & DGS are not overly sore this morning.

I'm so glad your daughter, grandson and others involved weren't injured! That is a scary thing. A friend of mine posted a picture of her daughter's accident (also not her fault) and to see the car you wouldn't think anyone could have survived. A good samaritan helped her out of the car and she wasn't injured badly. It's harrowing to see these things, even when they involve family members of friends and acquaintances. Wishing you all safe travels from here on out.

I didn't get a chance to post about my yesterday. It was a great day. We got to Costco by the time they opened because I had a return and needed price adjustments. Me with my silly self sent my son to Costco the day before the sale started. Really it was because I had hoped to get ink cartridges I needed to print my taxes. But Costco didn't even have them. Good thing they have a nice price adjustment policy. We got $21 back on sale items. But I spent twice that getting more stuff. My son shopped while I took care of the returns and got soft serve ice cream. I'm glad it was enough that I could leave some for today. Didn't take us much time at all.

Last night I guested on the radio program. I had 8 pages of typed notes about Project Blue Book, Roswell and the Phoenix Lights incident. Turns out I didn't need to refer to most of it because the conversation just flowed and I retained most of the information. Neither Mike, the host, my son nor me could believe how fast the half hour went!! There was actually about 24 minutes of discussion time, between the show's intro, the break and sign off. I was amazed at the set up Mike has in his home studio to be able to do the broadcast.

During the break, he played a minute clip of one of my songs and mentioned my album, which was nice. We didn't cover nearly what we thought we would so I've been invited back next week to continue the discussion! After I got home, I was so tired from the research, preparing the discussion document based on the questions he sent and not being able to nap, that after I ate, I passed out and slept a good long time.

Today I prepared two and a half weeks worth of meds while having a conversation with my son. The rest of the day I just want to relax and catch up on my TV watching. I don't have to expend much energy making dinner (perhaps broccoli salad tonight), but at some point, I'll have to do the dreaded chore of cleaning up my kitchen. :cautious:

The past few days were rainy but today was nice so I walked to the local grocery store. Usually I only buy a couple items but today I bought a few heavy things and then regretted it all the way home. I can't believe how limited I am at only age 69, I had to stop several times to set the bags down to let my hands and arms recover.

I received an emissions test notice yesterday, and it seems like the self-service kiosk would be convenient to go to later this week, so I watched some YouTube videos about how to find the OBD port and how to respond to all the prompts at the kiosk. I don't understand how plugging something in under the dash checks emissions, I thought it would have required something checking what comes out of the tailpipe.

The car makers sure do put the port in an awkward place to reach, I hope I can physically twist myself under there and have any ability to push the plug in. If only I was one year older I could just use the senior citizen waiver option (not that I'm wishing myself to be older!).

I ordered a betta fish plush toy for DGDs birthday which we will celebrate with family on Easter. We've been doing themes and this will be tropical. She is getting a real betta from her parents.
I couldn't find a little cosmetic bag that satisfied me so I went to the fabric store and got two cotton quilt blocks. One is pretty blue tropical and the lining will be red coordinating. The fish is blue and red.
I'll put some little things like sunglasses, sun lotion. Things an eight yr old would like.
At the last minute Ill add a pint of Ben and Jerry's Phish Food ice cream. She should share with her Grandma. Don't you agree? 😁
Maybe not. That stuff is made for a young metabolism. 😯

It's supposed to hit 80F here today and be colder than a banker's heart tomorrow so I gotta get my butt in gear and get stuff done.

First off is a trip to the bank and a visit to the garden center to see if they have the sunpatiens in stock yet.

BBL.

ETA: Guess whose Keurig is dying. Again! The next one will make the fourth one in 10 years. Grrrr.
