Yes it was very bad and reopened argument regarding this type of tourism. It goes on countless times a week but I would be to afraid to do it. Must be considered safe though as it is frequent.
Looks like the usual - human error. Or laziness and blatantly disregarding pre-flight requirements. No instruments on board. No watch. Pilot in Hudson River helicopter crash called about needing fuel before fatal accident, CEO says

Another beautiful day outside. Spring has def arrived.
Today I will be jarring the pickled vegs I made on Wednesday. The girl I made them for wants dill put in the jars, so I will be doing that.

I'll deliver them to her later today while I'm on my way to the cemetery. It's my parents anniversary today, even though they've been gone over 20 yrs, we still recognize it. Hopefully, my sister will be going with me, if she's feeling well enough.

Cab you beieve this.. the gardener is still not here...

he rang again to say that he won't be able to make it until after 6pm... and I told him it's going to be dark by 7.30pm... I really wanted to tell him not to bother coming, but I really want the fence panels in before the rain comes tomorrow

To say I'm peed off at him is the understatement, of course I didn't show it on the phone ... but I waited in all day for him today , when if he'd told me he was doing another job first , I could have gone out on this glorious last day before the rains come... so let's see if he turns up after 6pm.. if not he's going to be sacked !

It's so infuriating when workers or delivery people blow off appointments. They arrogantly assume people have nothing better to do than sit around and wait for them to show up.

@hollydolly Please tell us he showed up and got the job done.

Can you say cold? It hasn't even got to 60F yet, and although it's sunny, there's a strong wind, making it feel even colder.

When we got home it was my intention to play in the dirt. Nope. Too darned cold! Maybe tomorrow. It might be 70-ish, and 80-ish on Monday. It's not like I have anything else to do.

DGS's new(est) GF is very pretty (they always are!) and seems nice. I'm still not inclined to get to know her. She's just gonna be a friendly acquaintance.

So hot today... 24 deg , but muggy in the afternoon... and yes finally at almost 6.30pm the gardener turned up...

Within 5 minutes.. I can't even say it took 10.. he'd got the 2 fence panels out and the 2 new ones slotted in... talk about strong as an Ox.. did it all himself... then he mowed the front lawn, using my mower, because whatever he'd job he'd come from he hadn't been using his own industrial mower.. so he only had his industrial strimmer and some tools with him... and then he strimmed all the edges back and front.

I was pleased I didn't tell him off because after he'd been here a short time his missus was on the phone , they'd clearly just had a fight, and she was apologising, and he was fogiving her..

he wouldn't take any extra money for removing and fitting the panels.. so I gave him a little bit extra anyway.. and sent him home with some sweet treats for his girls..

...when he left I went to put my lawnmower away, and noticed he'd broken the trigger handle...without it the mower can't work.. it's useless ! ..and he never said one word about it !😖

exactly that..and I was going to say that very thing to him when he got here.. that I could have gone out etc... thank god I had the presence of mind to tell myself to wait until he'd done the work before saying anything.. otherwise given that he'd just had the falling out with his Missus.. he might have just walked away ...

Anyway..I'm not furious at him for breaking the mower.. it's been a really excellent cordless mower for me for about 15 years or more.. but I knew eventually it would break the handle wasn't the most robust .. .. so it was only gonna be a matter of time... but I am entirely disapointed that he said nothing about it !

I've just ordered a new one....

@hollydolly Did he put up the anti-squirrel thingies, too?

Maybe he didn't notice that the mower part was broken?
No Gigi... in all the rush I forgot all about the anti-squirrel things...

There's no way he couldn't noticed he broke the handle , he broke it in half,,,,, the handle is what's pressed to make the mower work

I've been waiting for a week to try and catch my neighbour when the children aren't there. The kids are on School holidays currently.. but I wanted to give the parents the Easter eggs for the children.. and also Easter gifts (Wine and liqueurs) for them.. ..so today I saw the mum and girls go out walking.. and dad came home soon after.. So I caught him to give him all the goodies while the children were out of the house and he could hide them...

he's a strapping 6 footer.. and he gave a massive hug.. and my god he reeks of Aftershave.. I know..I know... thank god it's not BO..not that I would expect that.. but too much after shave is almost as bad.. and I can't ...despite washing my hands and face , get rid of this smell... I think it's in my hair

Well I was watching tv , and just kida drifting off .. and I thought I hear a small tap at the front door.. this was 10.35pm..pitch dark.. I opened the door, and it was my neighbour with yet another plate of protein... She said she knocked quitely in case I was asleep..

IMG-7486.jpg
on this plate is Steak, frilled fish, Spced sausage.. and some very salty pork rind...with mayonaise

of course at 10.30pm..I've long eaten, and what was worse tonight, was that just 10 minutes prior I'd eaten a bag of crisp..( chips).. so in no way was I ready to eat a protein filled meal...

So I've left it to cool and it'll go into the fridge... for tomorrow...

''of course at 10.30pm..I've long eaten''

I would simply eat again .

because it looks good .
that's exactly how people get fat... just cuz it looks good is no excuse to eat when you've already eaten ... In my case for dinner at 8pm I'd had a Jacket potato with butter and Egg Mayonaise.. then I ate a large chocolate Brazil nut and a packet of crisps ... so that was a huge amount of food for me already...

That looks a tad overdone.❤️‍🔥 Was it done on a BBQ? Still, I suppose it's the thought that counts.

The weather forecast was totally wrong again. It was supposed to rain overnight and the garden really needs some rain. Not a drop, so I'll have to set up the sprinkler today and give the plants a good watering. At least water isn't metered. I suppose it will rain whenever it's supposed to be sunny.

@hawkdon Deserve it? Hell to the no! You don't deserve to be in pain. So there.

It's downright cold this morning, 35F. Not quite low enough for frost but close. I'm gonna wait a while before trying to play in the dirt. I'm trying to find excuses to not move monkey grass.

I guess DGD's party was a success because the Ring camera showed the last guest leaving at 11:30. Didn't hear a thing over here.

Another glorious, sunny day,🌞🌞 but thankfully that heavy muggy feeling has gone, and it's much more fresh...

Heat pad on my back again today... really thinking now that its the new mattress which might be causing the problem

Anyway.. resting today after all the busyness of yesterday...

DD is spending her birthday gardening... 🌺🌸🌷
Hands down the best mattress I ever slept on is the Serta iSleep. It's an American company, and I have no idea if it's available over there.

My Tuft & Needle mattress is a close second, but it's very firm so probably not a good choice for you.

Tempurpedic is another good one but very pricey.

I like your DD's choice of birthday activity💐

Tempurpedic was my last matteress, I had it for about 10 years..I hated it, I couldn't turn it.. and it made me sweat .... and really it was that which made me go looking for another bed....

This new mattress I have was very expensive.. I sold my jewellery to buy the bed and mattress.. but it looks like the mattress will have to go... :(

Broken mower trigger handle...

A nice surprise when I opened my living room blinds this morning at 6:45, the sun was beginning to rise.
Its been cloudy/ damp&cool here the past couple of days temps were near 40
On my early morning walk at 7 temp was 36, heard a couple robins as I went around the building before breakfast
My friend, Marcia picking me up at 10 go to our 10:30 church service. The rest of my day take afternoon walk, read the paper, talk to my brother, my niece/goddaughter, Katie. She called me a couple days ago to say she& husband, Zach& their 1yr old son, Xavier were driving Saturday from NYC to visit Zach's parents until Tues Zach grew up in suburb of Buffalo{Williamsville} I told Katie hopefully they can come here for lunch tomorrow
