Pepper, my friend, don't ever feel bad or scold yourself about worrying over your loved ones. Yesterday my daughter was driving DGS to school and stopped well back from a red light because there were train tracks ahead. DGS sat directly behind her.

A car ran the red light, hit a truck, caromed off the truck, slammed into her, then hit the car behind her. What would have been a tragedy 25 years ago when cars were less safely built, was not, thank heavens. But it serves a reminder that we can't always see what will unfold 30 seconds from now, sometimes not even 5 seconds.

The driver behind her had a dashcam that showed her and his car getting hit. She sent me the video, but it seems I can't upload it here because it's an mp4. Trust me, it's unnerving to watch when it's your family in the car.

Worrying over the well-being of our loved ones is the small price we pay for having them in our lives. ❤️

Nobody involved in the accident was hurt - a miracle - and all are fully insured. DD's car is fixable, she's already gotten a rental, and she & DGS are not overly sore this morning.

OMG.. regardless of how much care our own family take, we cannot forget about the idiots on the roads... thank the good lord they are all ok... Jeez what a shock !

@Paco Dennis, do they ever give you OxyContin or similar. So what if you became addicted, you need to stop the pain. It was designed for people like you.
That's the big bugaboo. They can't prescribe opioids =addiction. There are a few people here on the forum that would love some oxytocin or similar, but it has been replaced. I might ask for cabamezapime @hollydolly . This is so sensitive
I don't want to make a stupid decision.

you won't regeret the Carbamezapine... it's the only medication prescribed by UK doctors for Neuralgia... you start off with a low dose...like 2 tablets per day.. and gradually after a week or 2 you increase them if your pain has still not subsided..they take about a week to work...

... then you stay on them and increase the dose by one pill if the pain doesn't subside.. which it will, but in the unlikely instance it doesn't then you just up the dosage by one pill to a maximum of 7..... what won't happen is that while taken Tegretol..the pain gets worse, that won't happen at all..... unless there's another underlying cause of the nerve pain... your doctor would tell you precisely how to take them of course but how I described is the usual way to take them...

PD....I absolutely know 100 % what you're going through.....ask your doctor for Carbamezapine.... also known as tegretol

I have suffered with TNG on and off since my early 20's...suicidal with the pain at one point in my life. Long trail of various painkillers, doctors and cosultants without any releif, before finally I was sent to see a Maxillofacial Surgeon at the London Marsden Hopsital

I always remember the consultant holding my hand telling me that if I had that pain in my leg I could cope with it but so close to my brain it was impossible to cope...and I knew then he was the first Doctor to understand.

I take Carbamezapine 40mg every day... ... please ask your doctor for it....

Could some of your pains be caused by the stress of your ongoing divorce ?

While reading this, I am once again grateful at how we help and support one another via this forum.

In this case, how fortunate @Paco Dennis is that HD can (and is willing to) advise him based on her own experience with the condition and the meds.

He also knows her well enough to have confidence in her recommendations and take them to heart.

❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Paco, I have never heard that opiods are a "no". Doctors can based on diagnosis prescribe to a certain amount. Extensions have to be justified and approved by your insurance. This is based on my experience in several US states.

We're making final preparations for our first camping trip of the year to Cape Disappointment in WA which is in the mouth of the Columbia River. We're going to dig razor clams for a couple days w my college buddy, and his wife. Wide open beaches and tons of driftwood - perhaps a raging bonfire would be fun! Wx is predicted to be tolerable (high 50's°F, no rain) so that's a big plus. I've never eaten a razor clam, but I'm hoping they'll make a great ceviche.

To those with aches and pains and those feeling anxious (including me) - peace!
That is a beautiful piece of Oregon! May I tag along?

The day turned sunny and nice, but since I had to pick up prescriptions while I was out after that I went for a ride. Headed out to another small town, stopped to pick up fresh produce and more 88¢/lb. chicken drumsticks.

Certainly warming up, the trip clocked in at 45.7 MPG. Not bad for a non-hybrid.

Got home and I had two prescriptions, but one wasn't what I'd expected. The one they sold me is nearing refill too, but I need the other so I had to call and talk to somebody. They must be adding new help, because things got confused and she offered me one tablet (???) but I got her straightened out. :ROFLMAO:

So back there tomorrow. I'll check while I'm in there next time.

I think the pharmacist was befuddled, just before he'd waited on me some woman was in there hard-selling yet another new vaccine. Who knew these drug peddlers work out of their homes? She sure looked like a Tupperware Party saleslady to me.

Yesterday, my hay fever hit, and it hit hard!!!! I had a string of sneezes that seemed to last forever! When the sneezing finally stopped, my head felt like an over inflated balloon!!! And my eyes burned & itched so badly that I wanted to scratch them with some forks!!!! I ended up laying around, napping all afternoon. When I got up, POOF, the hay fever was gone!! Dio and I took Goober for an extra long walk, and I felt fine!

So glad no one was hurt! Doesn't help your nerves though.

O M Gosh. ::swooning::

After a morning with the grandgirls while daughter worked, we rendezvoused and she took the girls while I went to do a few things

I wanted a light lunch, so I stopped at the Galloping Galette. Ordered a galette (savory crepe) with mushrooms, caramelized onions and Brie. I’ll say it again…. O M Gosh.

You can tell something is the real deal (in this case French) when it is subtly delicious…. Creamy, just the right amount of herbs, freshly made…

I mowed my own lawns today because altho' the gardeners said they would be here tomorrow, I've had no confirmation of that even now at past 8pm.... so I'm having to presume they're not coming and as the lawns needed cutting and it was such a hot day and we're going to have showers on Sunday... I did it.... I topped and sided 2, 6 foot hedges... as well

If they do arrive then they will still be able to fit my new fence panels, I hope...

I've also filled a box with clothing and Bric - a- Brac for the Charity shop...

If anybody wondered...

The day started at 7:30 with DGD wanting to know if I was interested in accompanying her and DD to do some Walmarting. I wasn't even dressed yet. I should have videod myself so that y'all could see what it looks like when an old lady moves fast🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

We were in the car and on the road by 8, in and out of WM by 8:30 and home at 8:45. They dropped me off and went to finish their shopping at Aldi and Publix. DGD's 25th birthday is tomorrow so they were laying in supplies for a party she's having. All I bought was ham for Easter dinner and eggs for deviled eggs as a side. DD can figure out the rest of Easter dinner.

It's been weeks that I've been thinking about putting pavers under DD's garden gate. No grass grows there because there's so much foot traffic in and out, and when it rains, it's a muddy mess. So that's what I did. Six 12"x12" pavers, two rows of three each, leaving room for the gate to open and close, and had to be just so for rain to run off instead of puddling. Had I remembered what a chore laying pavers is, I'd have skipped it.

DD brought me a forsythia from Aldi. It'll get planted tomorrow. I've always wanted a forsythia bush so that when it blooms in the spring I can say "Forsooth! Forsythia!"

@Paco Dennis I really hope your doc can prescribe something for your pain. I have a real low pain tolerance level; can't even imagine what you're going through:(

@StarSong From your description of that accident all I can think is that Somebody Upstairs was watching over all of them. Whew!

@hollydolly Have you also been following the case of Karen Read in Massachusetts? She's accused of backing her car into her boyfriend and leaving him to die in the snow. He was a Boston police officer, and she says law enforcement is trying to frame her.
yes I've been following that as well.. altho' she pisses me off because she acts like she's the star of the show.. walking along the road with the lawyers like she's one of them, smiling and looking for accolades when she enters the court.... so I really don't like her ...

Went to town this afternoon, a storm with lightening started as we were driving home, then hail started coming down, too. As we drove it became too hard to see, so had to stop in the road as others did, too. Finally it cleared enough to see and get home. There was a weather warning to shelter in place but of course we were not able to hear it. After getting home, I was shaking some but so glad to be safe. It didn't look like rain when we left the house but then the sky started turning dark after leaving the store. I think I will not go out if rain is even mentioned on the weather channel.:(

Per earlier post, my processing for 10 images is now done with 13 more to go. Below, a screen capture of 9 of those images off my Adobe Bridge Contents pane. For stitching shots, I usually vertically (portrait) mount my a6700 on a Nodal Ninja MK3 multi frame stitching head. Thus below are 2 vertical column stitch blends and the lower right is a 3 column blend. The rest are single frames. All are tripod mounted, Bluetooth RF remote shutter actuated, Focus Bracket sequence shooting automated, focus stack blended mostly at F5.0 ISO 100 or 200.

Below is a 100% pixels 1080x1920 crop at frame center bottom edge of the image lower right. In wet seep areas, lush moss can grow densely atop the unstable volcanic rock. Here the slope is steep enough that it created a mini volcanic cobble talus field. Over decades, lush areas in the more level landscapes above that rim, have sent enough organic soils over this section that moss have colonized it in jumbled terraces embracing the cobbles. At the frame bottom edge foreground in new grass, a few yellow hued California goldfields, lasthenica californica, that are the main aesthetic species within the reserve.

And the main reason for my attraction to this subject, atop the moss are dwarf stonecrop, parvisedum pumilum. Actually in areas of steep moss, they look a lot like how mountain pines colonize canyon cliffs walls. In the afternoon light, the lime yellow stonecrop sort of glowed on their mossy green landscape. Notice too the succulent red lower peg-like leaves. The lime green parts however, like little lights or as I prefer...

An army tiny glowing lime green-head Aliens poured out of their spacecraft asking us for directions to MacDonalds.
