Made out like a bandit! 7 lbs dark chocolate. A garden sign "Sometimes I wet my plants." A garden center gift card. Waterproof pillows for my wicker garden settee. A 8" tall resin hedgehog holding a little watering can. Hedgehog is named Henry.

Never mind that stuff about being better to give than receive. I ❤️receiving:). Sometimes it's good to be old;).

Today was a wonderful day! It started with a trip to the cemetery (sounds strange right?). I've been trying to get there to visit my parents' grave and that of my first grandson (who was stillborn). And I've been feeling guilty because I haven't been since they passed. It's been decades and we couldn't find either grave. They are both in sections that don't allow raised headstones.

Michael, my new Honorary Son (HS) took me because he was going anyway to visit his mother's grave. New HS is my neighbor who hosts the radio show that he has asked me to co-host. He and I (and hopefully my son) will be collaborating on music as well. Michael knows the manager and thought he could help but the man wasn't there today. One reason my son and I never went is because I was told we had to be there before 3:00 on weekdays to get someone to help find the graves and my son is rarely home in time for that.

Michael is such a caring, kind, thoughtful gentleman. He checks on me often and looks out for me as a son would, thus earning him the honor. He offered to take me to Amazon Fresh or wherever I want to go and to pick up whatever I want from AF since he goes a few times a week. We walked around as he helped me look for the graves, so I got some exercise in. It was such a beautiful day to be out in that park like setting. We said a prayer for our deceased and those of others who were visiting today.

My son surprised me by saying he was taking me and my Honorary Daughter (HD) out to eat. He didn't tell me where we were going but I changed my top and head covering when I got home. We went to Dallas BBQ which just opened a new location in Secaucus, N.J. yesterday. Boy did they make some money today!! There were lines coming from both sides of the building, but we didn't have to wait as long as expected.

Son and HD have been to a Dallas BBQ before. This was my first time. Our waiter was excellent...so pleasant and attentive, despite his busy area. We told him so and thanked him when he came to collect the bill. We also asked for his manager so we could let her know how happy we were with his service. Each of us chimed in with our praises.

Per HD's recommendation and my son saying people rave about it...I ordered the Sticky Chicken (boneless). We got broccoli and vegetable tempura platters to share. I ordered a virgin pina colada and it was delicious too. Check out the leftovers!! I know we'll be going back.

Not only am I a catless cat lady, I'm a childless mother. I cherish the years we had together.

I'm so very sorry for your devastating loss Babs. He was a beautiful little boy and the drawing is awesome. I often say a special prayer for parents and we grandparents who have lost our children and grandchildren, that we will be comforted and find peace. I hope happy memories of your son will do that for you.

...another gloriously hot sunny day....

Have a good day whatever you're all doing today

Good morning, folksies. I don't know how I got so lucky, but I slept the sleep of the innocent. I don't remember even getting up during the night to visit the loo and woke up at 6 with the TV on. I slept so hard that I feel almost hung over.

It's another rainy morning, but if we're not being lied to (again) the rain might stop with the sun coming out later this morning.

Breakfast might be peanut butter pie and dark chocolate. LOL Some of my 7 lbs of chocolate came from DGS and his GF, and when DD makes peanut butter pie, she always makes two. She gave some to DGS, we had some for dessert, and there's a whole one left. At least there was a whole one left after dinner. That may have changed during the evening.

DGS's GF moved down here recently from Ohio where she worked at Target. I asked if Target hires old people, she confirmed that they do but said right now they're cutting hours of all the part-time people. They did hire her full-time.

There might be a trip to the garden center today. Gotta see what my gift card should be spent on.

I'm taking my Mom to her doctors appointment today. Then we are stopping at the store, getting her property assessment done, paying her taxes, stopping at a different doctor to get her bill figured out, renewing her cars registration, and.....did I forget anything??!!!! 🤔

I expect to be worn out, and sleep for a week! 😅🙃😂
How are you feeling today , Trila?
