How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Another sunny day, so back out there juggling my solar power experiments.

My "big guy" 350 watt solar array weighs 30 pounds (unfolded it is 8 1/2 feet wide), and the 2048 watt-hour power station it is charging weighs 62 1/2 pounds. Stepping down, my 100 watt array weighs maybe 10 pounds, and the 550 watt-hour stations that I charge with that weigh about 15 pounds.

I use collapsing luggage carts for the two larger items for bringing them out and back inside.

This may not sound like much to you bodybuilder types, but jockeying these things through the day sure keeps this old fart moving.

I'm logging stats as I go. It'll be interesting to see my results over one year once I get there. Even so, I've already noted a few surprises. For example a really clear morning with the panels angled straight-on toward the Sun does better than any other time of the day. The hours around Noon come in second.

Our daughter is up for an overnight to be w her Mother today, so all is good.

Last Monday May 5 2025 we had a winter storm out camping out at Yellowstone. Later that day 3 herds of bison passed through, including an energetic calf being watched by hoomans. We withstood the most severe conditions of our camping career.

I can't make my mind up whether to buy this cart or not...

I really can't lift heavy weights now.. like sacks of Bark... or soil.... ... or anything heavy in the garden... , just yesterday I had a problem moving the big marble garden ornament.. It's not expensive but it's not cheap either...and of course now I have a gardener who helps me when I can get him here , which is only about once a month.. ...so I don't know whether to buy it or not... what do you folks think ?

Nice big wheels for going over terrain, thresholds, etc. That tipping mechanism should be a plus for bulk loads. Make sure a shovel can work in there too, some are too cramped.

it was the fact that it has the tipping mechanism that attracted me to it in the first place... so yes, I will check that a shovel work in it too... thanks for that *D*

These wagons upset easily with loads in them, like kids when turning. they work well for soil that sort of stuff. I would get an airport style 2 wheeler for Coolers that sort of thing or box of stuff, bungie cords work well to strap stuff to them. They work well with stairs and unlevel surfaces too. Easy to load, just slide it under and bungie it on.

what is an airport style 2 wheeler ?

I already have a small sack truck, but its difficult to get heavy bags lifted onto it, and held while I strap them down

There are all different sizes and prices depending on 100’s of lbs of loads. …. :ROFLMAO:

Search 2 wheelers.
U see by the size of the thing you could easily scoot bags onto it and then Strap
on with a belt or Bungie. Bigger wheels work well on soft soil. I have one designed
to haul bear kegs. It will do a dresser easily. Large pneumatic
tires.

2 Wheeler Dolly - Bing

Yea Red has the wagon similar two the one you are considering.
I have the big 2 wheeler for the heavy pots, Bags of Cement and
other large dressers and stuff. The large 4 wheel carts are great for boxes.
She has several of the smaller ones like the first pictured to haul her
essentials or a cooler on when we come to our lake home.

We also have a military style Camo bug out bag with attached 2 wheeler, very big and great for essentials in. Several zipper pockets and Velcro closers.

The redbud trees leaning over a fence from my neighbor's yard are just about done. But I'm not sure most people realize that this tree will flower from along its larger branches as well as out toward the tips. Very different.

My phone doesn't have the most precise color rendition. Those flowers are a shade or two more into the "lilac" than quite as pink as they appear above.

these are stunning.....

They grow like weeds once introduced. The wood is fairly fragile but I have a fairly straight length I may cut and then shave down to make a staff. My neighbor had a guy come over to chainsaw a lot of it down yesterday, so I don't expect any fuss.

The seeds form inside a "pod" like peas but themselves are much smaller than peas. Still, this and the form of the flowers make me wonder if they aren't related to legumes. [Looked it up, they are.]

There is an opening in the woods not far from here that over time has filled with these trees. Quite pretty from the road in Spring as one drives by.

Thank you! Red buds are gorgeous in early Spring.
