How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Today is my son‘s 52nd birthday so that really makes me feel old. In six weeks I’ll be 71. I’m going to take him out for lunch because his wife works today. On Wednesday the three of us are going to go to a really fancy restaurant for dinner my treat, of course.

We have been 17° above normal so very hot. Yesterday we were 96 and they’re predicting that we may break a record today and be 99. I’ve been walking the dogs really early if I can. If I can’t, I usually wait till 7 o’clock at night but last night it was still 80° at seven so still too hot.
Happy Birthday to your son for today.... 🍻...you were young when you had him then ?.. I was 20 when I had mine , she's 49 now.... but I was 21, 4 days after she was born...

Today started out great, the sun was finally shining, I'd gotten 8 hours of real sleep including an hour and a half of 'deep sleep' (according to the Fitbit app), which is about the best I ever get and was much better than any night in recent history.
But then the cat threw up the 'sardines and mackerel' cat food he'd just eaten and I wound up cleaning and shampooing a section of carpet before I could even sit down to breakfast.

And now it is raining!

My late son's birthday today as well. Balloon flowers that I planted on his birthday are blooming now. Sweet memories.

I got married at 18 and got pregnant right away having him six weeks before my 19th birthday. The older both him and I get the closer we become and I think part of it is as he’s aging he understands better what it’s like. he is the only one of my three sons that lives in the same town. He has a wonderful wife and I love her too.

Wanted to replace some unreliable electrical connectors with a more solid and reliable kind. This meant dragging out a lot of tools and supplies I don't use often these days, which resulted in quite a hunt that sidetracked me multiple times as I found other items of interest and/or things that never got put away in their right places.

Finally... chopped one end off, got it replaced and made sturdy. Turned to work on the other end, chopped that off. Only then realizing I had bought all male connectors thinking that I had bought matched pairs!

Well at least I got the right connector on the right end with the proper polarity. Now I need to order females.

Have a super day......I'm hoping to get to the Vintage car show which is on at our local market town on Sunday.
Thanks Holly. Sadly the day was marred by a serious traffic condition between a car and four motorcyclists on the nearby A36. Three of the motorcyclists are in hospital, all in a serious condition. The fourth one is in the morgue.
There was probably about a thousand festival attendees, we did party and enjoy ourselves but the general mood was flat.

Saw 'Anything goes' at the Tivoli theatre in Aberdeen yesterday. We had seen it 'In the round' at the Crucible in Sheffield some years ago and I thing setting that suited it much better than the proscenium stage at the Tivoli. Nevertheless, it was an excellent show. The music, singing and action were fantastic. Pity the stage rather restricted the otherwise excellent dancing sequences. The outstanding musical number was 'Blow Gabriel blow' - fantastic song by Cole Porter.

That's all I've got booked for this year. Summer tends to be ballet and opera season - not really our style.

Weather fine at present, so we're heading out for a walk.

Good morning, Invisipeeps. It would be a sunny day if not for the haze created by the Canadian wildfires. We're...what?...at least 1200 miles south? I'm glad we're not closer! Gonna call my brother today to see how he's doing so far north. All that's between our hometown and Canada is Lake Superior.

Yesterday I had my mind all made up to finish digging up the rest of the iris bed, but after planting the last of the dwarf zinnias, I just wasn't feeling it so spent the rest of the day feeling sorry for myself🙄.

Today's another day. Need to get get my bony butt in gear and get busy. After all the rain we had, the garden is looking sad and waterlogged. It needs some TLC. Okay. It needs a lot of TLC.

It's Sunday...one is nearer to God's heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth...I'm going to go to "church."

Baking my sourdough this morning. Yesterday I made homemade cottage cheese and used some of the whey in my bread dough. So, we'll see how it turns out. The dough was very soft and sticky.
I'm also crocheting a hat for my oldest daughter and started the book 'Panama' by Ashley Carter. It's been yellowing on my bookshelf. I read it probably thirty years ago.

Oh no! What a tragedy. Prayers for them. 🙏

Weell it can't make it's mind up here..one minute it's sunny, the next it's cloudy, it's also windy...temps are at 65 deg... I was going to go to the Car show which is on in town, but apparently there's only 60 cars... and the next village along has a 120 vintage car show late this month so I'll just wait for that...

Gardener will be coming later some time... .I might still go out , depends how I feel. It's almost 1pm already

read in the news this morning another car rammed the football fans on the streets of Grenoble France yesterday... seriously injuring 4 members of the same family... :cautious:

Have a better Sunday everyone...

Smoke cleared a bit, enough to gather some solar power so I have one setup out there charging.

Need to take the car in tomorrow AM, so i unloaded my "usual stuff" then vacuumed seats and floor, and then cleaned the steering wheel, hatch liner, and floor mats. Then I cleaned the door sills that don't get regular attention. In a while I'll dust the dash.
