Good morning, boys and girls. It's already hot.

@-Oy- Trains boring? Au contraire! Show us pics when you get home!

A lacy night. Ugh. Maybe a nap today.

When I was out on the teeny tiny patio, a fawn wandered through...so young that it still had spots but apparently old enough to be without its mother. It stopped and checked out the flowers and didn't see/smell anything of interest so ambled along to the neighbor's yard. Bambi❤️:)

This morning I'll Optimize DD's lantana and my guara with potassium. Optimizing is a specialty of mine ;).

Gotta get out there before the real heat sets in. BBL

I have to ask - what is a lacy night???? :)

I was out at 6:15 and got most of what I needed to do done. Got stung by a wasp, not pleasant.
I have an area that I'm trying to get Creeping Jenny to take hold. I'm transplanting from another area that has it and that area is so pretty and not a lot of weeds.
I fear when I leave this house for one reason or another I'll have to leave directions on how to keep my various ground covers in check. I hope they aren't novices! They could be like my neighbor and have ivy covering her front steps and starting to crawl up the door. Yikes!
They use their side door but still. 🙄 Trying not to judge.............

Good morning to all, hot again today with heat index 115 degrees. We are told to not stay outside very long and keep hydrated. Wear loose fitting clothes, well, that fits me.

@hollydolly I feel so sorry you are in so much pain. I can only wish you to heal faster. 🤗

Now, I must go and do some work in the house.

Enjoy your day, everyone. Wishing you all well, too.:)

sorry about your wasp sting..Ouch!!!!! 😖

Talking of neighbours, yesterday when they brought round the food.. the man of the house said to me that they're going away for 5 weeks and needs to speak to me within the next couple of days... so I don't know what he's going to ask me to do.... certainly won't be the gardening... :ROFLMAO:

Wow five weeks. Maybe just keep an eye on things and/or bring in the mail.

well they go every year.. for about the same length of time, and they've never asked me to do anything in the past, but something must be bugging him this time. h's just been mowing his lawns.. so clearly getting ready to get packed and leave...

heckava journey with 3 kids under 12 in tow... several times he's driven all the way..takes 3 days..and back again..... not sure if he's driving this time.. because of course every year the kids are bigger, and they need more stuff..

Last year they flew, but a few days before they left... they had a an International luggage shipping company take all their cases for them so they would arrive in Eastern Europe around the same time as them...

Your neighbor needs to be careful because copperheads like to live in ivy. We make sure that the ivy doesn't grow close to places where we walk.

I've been out optimizing and stuff. Everything has been watered, and the guara and a couple of DD's plants...lantana and verbena...have been potassium'd as well.

It's already too hot to be out there even in the shade.

@hawkdon You be careful! Don't overdo because that certainly won't help your COPD. And make sure those a/c units are cranked up.

YES GG, I AM LEAVING THE A/C ON ALL DAY AND NITE NOW, FOR AWHILE I WAS TURNING THEM OFF AT NITE, BUT NO MORE, THANKS ....DON....

The doctors' secretary has just called, she said he's viewed the pictures sent by the District nurse, and ideally they'd like to get to the surgery to have a look. I said I can't get there , so she said he will call me some time today.. she doesn't know when...

That's put paid to my thoughts of any nap now after the horrible painful 2 hours only sleep I had last night...

I'll have to wait for the call.. or if I fall asleep then answer it, he'll think I'm a drunk.. I'll sound so drowsy..

Hiking at sunrise and 60 degrees in coyote country. In the afternoon, the temperature will be close to one hundred.
In summer I am hiking only at sunrise and sunset to avoid the heat.

The sun rises in the east, and that where the ocean fog (top of left pix, and on the right of the right pix) burns off first.

At the bottom is the coyote county; the center shows ocean fog; while the top is blue sky.
I am hiking 1 hour in the morning and walk 1/2 hour in the evening. It's healthy. In 6 months I will be ninety.

Coyotes and jack rabbits are too fast for my slow pocket camera; but I saw evidence of rattle snakes, and closer to home a regular wild rabbit.

During my evening walk, I have my hands full; not only my 3 Boxers but also my grandson's Beagle.
When we walk abreast in our usual marching order, then everyone gets out of our way.

One more river to cross..................................... My morning hike without my "big guy" who at age ten likes "to sleep in."

IMG_0479.JPGIMG_0506.JPG

Instead of a squirrel, I caught a bird............................................... After cutting many trees ($$$) the house has become more open.

So it's not my fault. DD said she had a "hankering" to visit Clarence at the garden center. We did. After all, I'm captive when I'm out with her, right?

She bought a million-bells petunia for half price. I bought two orange marmalade plants in the itty bitty pots. They've already been planted, of course.

She's supposed to supervise me:rolleyes:;).

My house is getting clean room by room. Why do I clean windows and glass doors? I suppose so that I'll be able to see the little fingerprints better that will be all over them after family dinner day! 😋

I think your pups are saying, "Is he ever going to slow down? Nope, I don't think so." 🤗

Doctor has just called at 6,15pm, and has issued a prescription for antibiotics after viewing the pictures of my hand sent to the surgery by the District nurse yesterday... she's also sent one up for more Methocaramol to ease the painful muscle spasms around my rib cage and lower back.

Only problem is , the pharmacy closed at 5pm.. so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get them

It's almost 6.30pm now, I'm starving, off to make some dinner.

The airfryer has been a god send during this time... I just put something in and it cooks itself... it takes me longer to try and eat than it does to cook it ..:D

@hollydolly you have been to hell and back with this accident and your divorce. It's good that you're not pushing yourself through this recovery period and giving your body the time it needs to fully heal. Once you are back to full "holly" mode, I hope you'll consider doing all of the things that make YOU happy. If that involves moving someplace else, then do it. If it means hiring a cleaner for your house, then do it. Whatever it is, do it. The rest of your life should be focused on your inner peace. xo

Hopefully you are able to get some sleep tonight.
