@hollydolly you have been to hell and back with this accident and your divorce. It's good that you're not pushing yourself through this recovery period and giving your body the time it needs to fully heal. Once you are back to full "holly" mode, I hope you'll consider doing all of the things that make YOU happy. If that involves moving someplace else, then do it. If it means hiring a cleaner for your house, then do it. Whatever it is, do it. The rest of your life should be focused on your inner peace. xo
you're so right Leann...after 4 years of hell with that divorce.. and the accident coming just 6 weeks after the final financial remedy order...I wonder that I've got any sanity left tbh... :(

sadly money will still be a stumbling block in a quest for most things I'd like to be able to do... but inner peace will be the first thing I'll seek... 💕

Well - I had my day out to Donnington. Three trains each way. I enjoyed it. A lovely little craft beer bar on the station too ;)

But the highlight of the day was making a new little friend on the train on the way back across the pennines. Meet Cassie - what a cutie I just couldn't resist having a hold and a littler cuddle

..awww I knew you'd bring me something back from yer holidays... ...wee Cassie... 💕

I think your pups are saying, "Is he ever going to slow down? Nope, I don't think so." 🤗

@hearlady Thanks for the thought, but I already have slowed down.

Today we had our 6 y/o grandson all day with us, and most of the time he wanted to play with me. He turned my room upside down by building a tent for us and the dogs. I wish I still had his energy. And in a dark walk-in closet, he wanted me to tell him ghost stories. He exhausted me, and I had to turn him over to my wife to play with him.

My grandson calls me "Opa" which is German for "grandfather." Even though I have been living longer in English speaking countries than in Germany, I am still speaking with a German accent. And since I perfected my English in Australia, holding a degree from the Australian National University in Canberra, some people even think that I am English. -- I arrived in America penniless, but we have eventually been able to buy our children their own houses.

@hearlady again thanks for the thought, but it's wishful thinking.

And when he saw my computer screen of 2 1/2 years ago, then he immediately wanted that I again take him for a walk.

I love the look on the pup's face (bottom left pic). 😄

Think the most excruciating pain was when they removed the casts from my wrists.
I had to have braces on before I could leave the Office. Bending those wrists after
several months, had to have them in braces. It took a couple of days to loosen em up.
I didn't use any Narc's, Tylenol was my help during my ordeal. Lots of hot baths / showers.
Heating pad on my left leg. Tens was amazing. I was up on the roof of the new lawn
shed nailing the last couple of shingles when I realized I wasn't feeling pain.

I'm afraid Tens Machines hve never eased my pain.... in the past ..so I don't bother with them now.

I have no Narcotics...just Methocarbamol,,a muscle relaxant to relieve the spasms in my rib cage and my back... and co-codomol.. for the pain in my hand and arm

Went and had the basal cell removed from my forehead yesterday afternoon (six stitches) so that's out of the way.

My left knee got to bothering me and and after xrays of both knees I had to get a steroid injection in my knee and am feeling better and will begin walking again tomorrow after not for ten days.

When viewing the xrays the ortho doc mentioned that both arteries in my legs showed to have calcification / blockage present and suggested, because calcification builds up in all arteries not just the legs, that I go see my cardiologist as soon as could get in and I've got a appointment with him at 11:45 this morning.

Don't get me wrong I'm tickled to death to be upright but it just seems like if it ain't one dam thing it's another.

@IKE We hear you! There sure are a lot of us in the same boat. Let's hope it doesn't sink from being overloaded! LOL

Guess what? It's gonna be another hot day. Can you even believe it? ;)

After getting dressed, I'll venture out to the garden and water stuff but not going to spend much time out there for sure.

There must be something on the Optimizing agenda today, but I can't think what it is. Maybe time to start making lists?

Where's @hawkdon?

Morning all, on my early walk at 6:50 temp was 73 as I strolled around building complex twice before breakfast
On Tues, July 8th was the debut our new walking club at 2pm which I thought was the wrong time to go,3 residents inc me went with Erika, part time assistant to our cultural co ordinator,Alexandria. I wasn't able to go the following 2 weeks, but I did last week. It was only me & another resident with Erika,we didn't;t go far because it was too warm
Last week, Alex&Erika asked me if I would take over,I thought about for a couple days, said I'll give it a try,but people need to be in the lobby by 10am.This is the time I usually go on my mid morning walk'. I have no idea who will show up,I'll wait 5 min then leave.I won;t be going far, walk across the street go around the block because its going to be another sunny hot/ humid day
The rest of my day read NYT, may take afternoon walk if I'm not too tired

Good morning to everyone, another hot day today with heat index at 116 degrees. May cool off a little by the weekend. It sure makes it too hot to get outside if you have to be outside.

I see a lot of posts that I haven't read yet, but really hope you are all doing well and enjoy your day today. :)
